Avant Interventional Psychiatry was founded in 2017 by Dr. Okah “Justin” Anyokwu. Upon moving to the Atlanta area he continued his work with local inpatient hospitals as well as underserved populations in hospitals specializing in psychiatric consults for comorbid and Treatment-Resistant psychiatric disorders. After making the decision to call this community home, he decided that he wanted to take part in making the lives of the people in our area better with a deeper reach towards mental wellness. Throughout his years of work in mental health and particularly with complex and severe mental illness, Dr. Justin realized an interventional piece was needed to bridge the gap in psychiatric treatment. By intervening in the lives of patients before hospitalization and being able to assess the true complexity of their mental health needs we hope to replace years of suffering with more years of healthy living and peace of mind.
ABOUT THE OWNER
Dr. Okah “Justin” Anyokwu received his medical degree from the College of Health Sciences at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife Nigeria. Dr. Justin is a board-certified psychiatrist licensed in eight states and is currently a member of the American Psychiatric Association.
