Ever feel emotional during or after a hot yoga class?
You’re not imagining it — and you’re not alone.

Hot yoga doesn’t just work the body.
The combination of heat, breath, and focused movement can shift your nervous system, helping release built-up stress and tension. Sometimes that release shows up as calm, clarity… or emotion.

When you slow down, breathe deeply, and stay present, your body finally gets a chance to let go of what it’s been holding. That might feel like relief, tears, lightness, or simply feeling more open than usual.

There’s nothing wrong with that. It doesn’t mean you did anything “too much.”

It means your body felt safe enough to release.

Take your time after class. Hydrate. Rest. Be gentle with yourself.

Your practice meets you exactly where you are. 💛

Soma is waiting for you!

✨New Year’s Resolutions -What the Research REALLY Says ✨

Every year millions of us set goals - eat healthier, exercise, sleep better, get more mindful - and that intentional push for change can feel powerful and hopeful.

But what does the data actually say about how well resolutions work?

📊Success rates are low but meaningful.

Studies suggest that only about 8-9% of people actually keep their New Year’s resolutions through the year - most get dropped within the first weeks or months.

Here’s what the numbers show:

🔷Many resolutions last only a few months - the average timeframe is under 4 months before people start falling off track. Forbes
🔷Self-reported polls find that mid-year success is often under 20% when measured strictly.
🔷That said, people who set specific goals and make actionable plans tend to outperform vague promises.

So are resolutions “healthy” or not?

💡Yes - IF they’re done with intention and backed by real habit science.

Simply crossing your fingers and saying “I’II change” isn’t enough. But when you break change down into small, measurable steps, you’re tapping into habit-formation science - which is the real engine of lasting health.

✅Resolutions can be a catalyst for awareness, intention, and focus.

But long-term health is more about process and consistency, not just a calendar date.

➡️Try this instead:
• Set micro goals you can measure
• Track progress instead of perfection
• Build routines that fit your lifestyle
• Use your yoga practice as a daily anchor for consistency

Your mat doesn’t care whether it’s January 1 or July 1 - every day is a chance to show up and build your habits for good health.

Morning Yoga vs. Evening Yoga 🧘‍♀️
Both support mental health — just in different ways.

🌅 Morning Yoga
Starting your day on the mat helps calm a busy mind before it takes off.

Morning practice can:
• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Improve focus and mental clarity
• Set a grounded, intentional tone for the day
• Boost mood and motivation

It’s like a mental reset before the world asks anything of you.

🌙 Evening Yoga
Evening practice helps you release what the day left behind.

It can:
• Ease mental tension and overstimulation
• Support emotional processing
• Calm the nervous system
• Prepare the mind for deeper rest and sleep

It’s a chance to let go instead of carrying it into tomorrow.

✨ The best time to practice?
The one that supports your mental well-being right now.
Some days we need energy and clarity. Other days we need softness and release.
Both are valid.

Which team are you — morning or evening?

Stress vs. Burnout — they’re not the same.
And your body knows the difference.

✨ Stress
• Short-term and situational
• Comes from pressure, deadlines, or life demands
• You might feel tense, anxious, or overwhelmed
• With rest and regulation, stress can pass

🔥 Burnout
• Long-term and cumulative
• Happens when stress isn’t resolved
• Feels like exhaustion, numbness, lack of motivation
• Rest alone doesn’t always fix it
So where does hot yoga fit in?

🧠 For stress:
Hot yoga helps activate your parasympathetic nervous system (your “rest & digest” mode).
Breath + heat + movement = a powerful reset that releases tension and brings you back into your body.

🫀 For burnout:
Hot yoga isn’t about pushing harder — it’s about reconnecting.
Moving with intention, staying present in the heat, and practicing self-awareness can help rebuild resilience, emotional regulation, and energy over time.

✨ Stress asks for release.
✨ Burnout asks for restoration.

Your practice doesn’t have to be perfect — it just has to be yours.

Stronger body. Clearer mind. 🧠

Yoga isn’t just a workout—it trains your nervous system.

Every class helps calm stress, sharpen focus, and build resilience you can use in real life.

You’ll learn how to breathe through challenge, stay present under pressure, and move with intention—not just on the mat, but everywhere else too.

Hot yoga turns it up 🔥

The heat challenges your body and trains your mind to stay steady, focused, and confident—even when things get uncomfortable.

This is more than stretching.
It’s mental strength, built one breath at a time.

Come feel the difference. 🧘‍♀️ Soma is waiting for you.
