When the glitter explodes.
The paint spills.
The slime won’t come out of the carpet.

But somehow… the breakthroughs still happen. 🎨✨

…means slowing down before the rush begins.
It means letting your tea cool while your thoughts settle.
It means creating without pressure, fixing, or performing.

Just you. A page. A pen. A warm mug.

This week, give yourself five intentional minutes to notice, breathe, and make something… even if it’s just words or doodles.

Small, mindful moments add up 🤍

Ways we add ✨whimsy✨to the office

Because therapy doesn’t have to feel sterile to be serious.

• Soft lighting over harsh fluorescents
• Twinkle lights that feel warm and welcoming
• Stuffed animals that make brave conversations a little safer
• Gallery walls filled with color and personality
• Cozy corners that invite you to exhale
• Spaces that reflect creativity, play, and humanity

We believe environment matters. When clients (especially kids and teens) walk in and feel curious, calm, or even a little delighted, it helps their nervous system settle and their guard come down.

Healing can hold depth and whimsy at the same time. 💛

Black History Month is a celebration, but it’s also a reminder.

Representation in mental health matters.
Seeing yourself in stories matters.
Hearing your experiences validated matters.

At Art It Out, we are committed to creating spaces where every client feels:

✨ Seen
✨ Safe
✨ Valued

Because identity isn’t separate from mental health, it’s part of it.

One of our favorite ways to support younger clients? Pairing a playful game with a hands-on intervention so they can learn, practice, and process a skill all in one session.

In this activity, we used The Lion in My Way to explore Obstacles & Solutions. After practicing flexible thinking through the game, we created this artwork: drawing our own “lions” (the obstacles that feel big, frustrating, or scary) and brainstorming real-life solutions to go with them.

When kids can:
✨ Talk about the skill
✨ Play with the skill
✨ Create around the skill

…it becomes theirs.

Therapy at this age doesn’t have to feel heavy to be powerful. Sometimes it looks like markers, imagination, and brave problem-solvers learning they’re bigger than their lions. 💛

⛸️ Gold Medal. Real Talk. 📚

When Alysa Liu won her gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics, the world saw excellence.

But what makes her story even more powerful is her honesty about mental health, and her courage to step away from the sport to protect her well-being.

That’s the conversation we want our athletes (and their parents) to hear:

💙 You are more than your performance.
💙 Pressure is real.
💙 Mental health is part of training.

At Art It Out, we believe strong athletes build strong minds, self-awareness, coping skills, and support systems.

Whether your child plays on a travel team, competes at school, or just puts pressure on themselves to succeed… the right tools (and the right conversations) matter.

What’s one message you want your athlete to internalize this season?
