Cold temperatures can make muscles tighten and joints feel stiffer, which may increase back or neck pain. People also tend to move less in winter, leading to reduced flexibility and strength.

Staying active, stretching daily, and using heat can help ease seasonal stiffness. If pain persists, it may be time to get checked.

Teachers, your posture deserves an A+ too! 🍎
Long hours of grading can sneak up on your spine, so try this:
✔ Switch between sitting and standing
✔ Rest your forearms on the desk (not your shoulders!)
✔ Use a small footrest to keep your spine aligned

A few small adjustments can make grading days a lot more comfortable.

A Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) happens when the spinal cord is damaged, often from trauma, accidents, or disease.

This type of injury can disrupt communication between the brain and body, leading to partial or complete loss of movement and sensation below the injury site.

The impact depends on where and how severe the injury is—but with early care, rehabilitation, and new treatments, recovery and improved quality of life are possible.

At ANSI, we’re here to help patients and families navigate every step of the journey.

Adjacent Segment Disease can happen after a spinal fusion.
When one level of the spine is fused, the segments above or below take on extra stress — and over time, they may begin to degenerate.

Common symptoms include back pain, stiffness, or nerve irritation near the previous surgery site.
Early evaluation is key to managing pain and preserving mobility.
