💖 We hope you had a great Valentine’s Day! 💖

Did you know oxytocin is often called the “love hormone” or “cuddle hormone”? 🧠✨

Although love is complex, oxytocin is released during touch, intimacy, and even during and shortly after childbirth 🤱💞. It’s produced in the hypothalamus and released by the posterior pituitary gland, playing a key role in bonding, social connection, and reproduction.

🧪 Neurochemistry is amazing — and a strong, healthy brain helps these systems function properly!

“The time is always right to do what is right.”
– Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today, we honor the life, legacy, and courage of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His words remind us that meaningful change begins with intentional action—no matter how big or small.

Whether it’s standing up for justice, caring for our communities, or taking steps toward better health, today is always the right time to do what is right.

We remember, reflect, and recommit to compassion, equality, and progress. 🤍

💪 Stay Strong & Don’t Get Discouraged! 💪

January 9th is known as National Quitting New Year’s Resolution Day (also called Quitter’s Day). This concept was popularized by a fitness app, Strava, after noticing a sharp drop in activity following the New Year surge.

✨ If you haven’t given up on your resolution — keep up the great work!
✨ If your plans have changed — don’t beat yourself up. Today is a new day, and our brains crave goals.

One powerful way to reset and refocus is by creating S.M.A.R.T. goals:

🧠 Specific – Clearly define your goal
📊 Measurable – Include something you can track (time, days, repetitions, etc.)
🌱 Attainable – Start small and build momentum
🎯 Relevant – Know why this goal matters to you and remind yourself often
⏰ Time-Bound – Set a realistic deadline (like 4 weeks) to keep it manageable

Goal setting plays a vital role in both our daily lives and our brain health. Here’s to progress, resilience, and an amazing year ahead! 🌟

🧠 Patient Testimonial – Concussion Recovery
Here is a powerful story shared with us about a patient’s journey to healing after a severe concussion:

💬 “This place saved my life. After a 9' fall onto the head, and a severe concussion accompanied with an inability to speak, communicate and walk, I began coming for treatment. Dr. Longyear and Dr. Fetterly are brilliant. I began my ‘return to play/work’ after 1 month. Ruby in the front desk is exceptional and welcomes you with a giant smile every time. They have hyperbaric chamber, gyrostim, fancy giant treatment screens, play/treatment areas, supplements, meditation room, diagnostic glasses, balance boards, laser etc. This place is equipped.”

Stories like this continue to inspire our mission. Recovery is possible — and we’re honored to walk alongside our patients every step of the way. 💙🙏

📚 Did You Know?
In a 2022 survey, 54% of Americans reported reading at least one book per year.

But what’s happening in the brain when we read? 🧠✨

🔹 Reading silently or even reading made-up words activates key regions of the brain — including the left orbito-frontal cortex, cerebellum, and temporal cortices.
🔹 When we draw conclusions while reading, activation increases in the inferior frontal and insular regions on both sides of the brain.

In other words… reading is a full-brain workout! 💪🧠
So pick up a good book and activate your brain today!
