You don’t have to earn rest.
You don’t have to finish the list first.
You don’t have to keep pushing.
Rest isn’t weakness.
It’s your body remembering safety.
It’s how healing begins.
Melanie is a private and small-group yoga therapist. She teaches private clients. Because each body is unique, yoga is best taught in an individual way.

Melanie's interest in yoga began in college, where she practiced in between classes. She loved it, but after graduation, balancing job, family, and city life, her yoga practice got pushed to the side. She spent the next ten years as an advertising executive; overworked, overweight, and stressed to the limit. At age 35 she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Suffering constant fatigue, the meds were, at times, worse than the diseases. Something needed to change. The only good days were days including light exercise, so she committed to practice yoga five days a week. The results were startling. She began to look and feel better and was able (with professional medical support) to discontinue almost all of the meds she was taking. The more yoga she did, the better she felt. Energized and motivated to share her results with others, she gave up the corporate world and devoted herself to practicing and teaching yoga. Her passion for the positive benefits of yoga makes her an ideal teacher, leading by example with compassionate and gentle encouragement. She made a positive change, and she wants to help others achieve a healthier, happier life. Melanie encourages open hearts and open minds so that the students can carry that openness with them where ever they may go. Melanie completed her 200 teacher training at Empower, and is certified in teaching Yoga for Arthritis, and works part-time at the American Red Cross.
