Description
Marietta Memorial Hospital Corp. was formed in 1921 by a group of local citizens who saw a need for a large, centralized health care center in the community. The undertaking would be a memorial to Washington County residents who lost their lives in World War I, these pioneers decided. A massive community fundraising and organizational campaign came to fruition when, on July 9, 1929, the hospital admitted its first patient. Marietta Memorial has responded through the years to the changing needs of the region, adding to its structure and services to meet the health care expectations of its patients. Today, the hospital and its affiliates offer a lifetime of care. At Memorial Health System, some amazing things happen each and every day. Not only are we touching hundreds of lives by the dedication, expertise and compassion of our people and their abiding commitment to quality patient care, but we enhance quality of life in other ways, too. As a leading employer in the area, Memorial Health System is committed to investing not only in the quality of health, but also quality of life in the communities where we live and work. We have donated millions in charity care to those in need every year and continue to invest in a way that supports the lives of our friends, neighbors and our own families. Our , Vinny and Waylon, and their brother Milo, made a heartfelt visit to the Cancer Center, donating chemo bags in loving memory of Jim Lenhart and Wanda Padgitt. 💛

This special act of kindness is more than just a donation—it’s a tradition filled with love and resilience. Jim began this tradition himself while undergoing treatment, turning his own journey into a way to bring comfort to others. Today, his grand pups proudly carry on his legacy alongside his granddaughter, our Pet Therapy Coordinator, Erin Miller!

It’s a beautiful reminder that even in the hardest moments, compassion can create lasting impact. Jim’s spirit continues to shine through each bag given and every life touched.
