Being judgmental keeps us in a negative mindset, which can cause us to be less patient and more irritable 😖
Here’s a trick to help:
When you realize you are judging something or someone, stop and describe what you’re judging.
For example: if a car pulls out in front of you, your first reaction might be “What the ****!! Dumb***!” Instead, start describing the situation: “blue car, Chevrolet, two people in front seat, license plate is “ “, license ” Keep describing until you’ve calmed down again.
You can use this with other people too. Just start describing the color and style of their clothing, their hair color, eye color, etc. It will distract you from becoming emotionally invested in the situation. 🙂
