Much can be states here so here are so key facts. following any type of the affected side looses nerve firing (innervation) but some groups slow return over time. most people are left with tight thigh muscles unable to function like they once were. Neurologically affected muscles resist a swift change in length. meaning won't stretch easy, are too weak to over overcome the tight quads and calf gets locked in plantar flexion causing drop foot which then needs a foot brace to not roll the ankle or cause a fall - long story short. My client, with my therapies, has overcome all of those regarding his affected leg. he does gait and balance training now. his hamstrings are firing stabilizing his knee and doesn't hyper extend with steps. his ankle dorsi flexes allowing him to toe off into plantar flexion so he wears a soft brace not a hard plastic one. his contracts to help him laterally control his leg and his center of gravity. so if you are a stroke survivor thinking your have given you the best outcome come spend time with me to see your body can actually overcome that diagnosis. MY PROOF HAS BEEN SUPPORTED BY MY DOING! And I have the videos to prove it!
