Feminizing rhinoplasty and orbital contouring as part of facial feminization surgery.

This patient underwent multiple procedures as part of FFS. Prior to the operation, her nose had visible dorsal asymmetries including a visible transition from the upper nose to the middle nose, a deviated nasal dorsum, a dorsal hump, and prominent orbital rims.

As part of the rhinoplasty, the dorsal hump was reduced, the dorsum was straightened, the transition from the upper nose to the middle nose was smoothed, and the orbital rim projection was reduced.

These photos are taken only 2 months after surgery!

Type 3 brow bone reduction for facial feminization.

A brow bone reduction reduces the brow prominence over the eyes. A masculine brow has a low, prominent brow ridge, whereas a feminine brow has a smooth contour with a higher curvature. This patient had a type 3 brow bone reduction to reduce the projection of the brow ridge and to create a smoother transition from the top of the forehead to the radix of the nose. This contributes to an overall more feminine appearance.

Feminizing rhinoplasty as part of facial feminization surgery.

This patient underwent multiple procedures as part of FFS. Prior to the operation, her nose had visible dorsal asymmetries including a visible transition from the upper nose to the middle nose and a deviated nasal dorsum.

This patient underwent a hairline lowering to improve the forehead height and hairline contouring.

One of the benefits of a hairline lowering is that the non-hair-bearing portion of the lateral forehead is less visible through the hair. This helps contribute to a feminine appearance and improved confidence.

In many patients, the scar fades and becomes only faintly visible. This patient is now 1-year out from surgery. Can you see her hairline lowering scar?

Brow bone reduction for facial feminization.

A brow bone reduction reduces the brow prominence over the eyes. This results in a smooth transition from the top of the forehead to the brow and allows for a more gentle transition to the nose. It makes the eyes appear more shallow and less deep-set. This contributes to an overall more feminine appearance.

This patient was interested in feminizing her chin as part of FFS. Prior to surgery, she had a square chin with minimal projection (forward location). By shaping the chin, we were able to create improved taper and increase the apparent projection (forward location).

She is only 1 month out in this photo, so the swelling and result will only continue to improve!
