Do you want to know the main reason I’ve been called to teach Pilates?
•
Beyond the physical therapy component and excluding the killer workout portion- I love Pilates because it’s a platform for self examination.
•
It shows us our wonky spots, our curves, and our weakness. Equally it shows our strength. It reveals to us the areas we might have forgotten about as well as the areas we are thriving.
•
Self examination is the basis of all real growth. Before we are able to really take it to that next level we MUST learn the skill of self examination. Pilates has matured me in ways I didn’t expect and it still pushes me to keep showing up. I literally SEE when I have been committed to my practice and when I’ve gotten a little… soft. 😅
•
When you’re ready for the next step but not 💯 about how to get there, I encourage MOVEMENT. Move your body and your mind will catch up 💋

I’ve been getting this question a lot lately! While I can absolutely recommend visit frequency based on musculoskeletal conditions, when it comes to the amount of sessions from a wellness standpoint- I’ll let the master guide you.❤️

I’m closing in on my final hours of teaching- which means I won’t be offering FREE one on one Pilates sessions for much longer. Check these dates and message me if you want to snag one! After these are gone I will be DONE with my 150 hours 🙌🏻

Good morning! ☀️

As I make my way toward my Pilates certification, we thought it was a good idea to share what my program consists of:

•100 hours of observation- I do this at the studio in Edwardsville. I love getting to observe seasoned instructors do their thing!

•150 hours of practice teaching- I do this mostly from my office these days. I’m currently at 100 hours! 🙌🏻

•100 Pilates lessons- these are also done at the studio in Edwardsville (I’ve been spending a lot of time there as you can tell 😅)

• 50 hours of personal Pilates workouts at home

• 50 hours of miscellaneous learning and workouts

None of these hours include the actual learning component of the program. We have six full weekends spent learning the equipment, repertoire, and how to manage common spinal conditions.

Speaking of equipment- a lot of people don’t realize that Pilates involves the use of equipment. While it can be overwhelming at first, the equipment is a great platform for rehabilitating musculoskeletal conditions, building strength, and improving mobility. I LOVE this movement method because it complements my role as a chiropractor perfectly.

I share this to let my followers know that I’ve been working my butt off (literally AND figuratively 🤣) behind the scenes to offer this service. I am SO excited to share my knowledge with you!

Welcome to Legacy Spinal Health!

My goal with this office has been to create an environment for health, healing, and growth. I offer an integrated approach to healthcare- both internally and externally.
•
I utilize various techniques including: chiropractic adjustments, therapeutic modalities, corrective exercises, deep tissue/trigger point release, acupuncture, cupping, CranioSacral therapy, and Pilates. I definitely don’t treat every patient the same- I listen for key words to tell me which direction to take.
•
I also collaborate with other local providers to help support my patients. I regularly co-manage with physical therapists, massage therapists, orthopedists, general practitioners, and pain management specialists. I don’t own anyone (besides Wally 😉) and if I believe there’s another provider or technique that you would benefit from- I say so!
•
Though my office is small, I think it’s the perfect representation of the kind of care I provide. I take my time and my favorite thing to do is to educate! I want you to NOT need to see me multiple times a week for the rest of your life- I want you to go out and LIVE your life (with as much functional capacity and as little pain as possible!) ❤️❤️❤️

* Legacy Spinal Health is located at 101 E Alton St in Marine- this is where you’ll go for your appointments!
* If you accidentally go to 1880, we understand! Just follow the sidewalk around the corner and you’ll find us.
* Starting 8/18 our schedule will be: Monday Wednesday 7-7 Friday 7-12 (between now and then my schedule is scattered so just bear with me.)

As of 8/5 1880 will no longer be in operation. RIP to my home business! 😭

Fear not, we are still very much in business. 1880 has evolved and become a whole new business!
•
We call her Legacy Spinal Health and she moved in RIGHT NEXT DOOR! 🙌🏻
•
The new space will be slightly bigger and will certainly feel a little different at first.
•
I hope to grow Legacy into something that reflects both my skills and passion for helping others feel better. I want my desire to serve my community to be what drives this new business to levels I couldn’t achieve within my own home.
•
My new model will be on SPINAL REHABILITATION through static and dynamic alignment. My understanding of the human body and my passion for education have collided here at my new space. 💪🏻

AUGUST PILATES SCHEDULE 🤸🏼
•
I will no longer be teaching the Thursday 5:30 AM class at Balanced Wellness. I enjoyed trying it for the summer- but it’s not for me 😅
•
I will be leading a hot sculpt class on Tuesdays at 5:30PM starting on 8/5 - the pace will be faster and the music more upbeat! (Also the music will not be G rated so keep that in mind if you’re considering bringing a teen!) I look forward to making everyone sweat! 💪🏻
•
Saturday Classical Mat will be moving to 7AM in order to allow me to get to work on time! I know 7:30 or 8 would be preferred but for this season I have to start early.
•
Sundays at 10AM will be a slower paced class that uses foam rollers and therapy balls to help everyone reset for the week ahead.
•
I am excited to be expanding my teaching hours and utilizing more tools. I’m so grateful for everyone who shows up to help me learn and grow! ❤️

Happy belated 4th of July! It makes this Monday a little brighter knowing that we soaked up the sunshine this holiday weekend. ☀️

A little update: we are not moving out of our home. I think my previous post implied that WE are moving out of the house, when in reality we are moving THE BUSINESS out of the house.
•
So many people assumed we were moving that I wanted to clarify it. I will be moving my business out of the house permanently and in full capacity.
•
There will be no table at home for me to adjust on, which I’m looking forward to. A little work-life separation is a good thing and I’m SO looking forward to having a little library where my office currently is.
•
I ALSO look forward to GROWING into my new space. To finding new patients that align with my model of healthcare and to having better availability for current patients who need it. I even look forward to the hard work that’s to come with making this transition and to all of the potential that awaits. If you can’t tell, I am EXCITED! 😆
