Caring for someone with a serious illness comes with a lot of responsibility, and you do not have to carry it alone.

We are proud to spotlight Palliative Pathways™, our newly trademarked program designed to support patients and caregivers who may not be ready for hospice (emotionally or medically) or who have been discharged from hospice.

Palliative Pathways offers education, guidance, and connections to community resources, along with ongoing support as needs change. Anyone can make a referral, including providers, facilities, family members, or the individual.

Support for today, with planning for tomorrow.

During Heart Failure Awareness Week and Cardiovascular Professionals Week, we are raising awareness about heart failure and recognizing the dedicated cardiovascular professionals who support patients and families through complex heart conditions. Heart failure can impact quality of life in many ways, and hospice care focuses on comfort, symptom management, and emotional support when care needs change. Your heart matters, as does compassionate education and care that honors each individual's journey.

Each year, National Salute to Veteran Patients Week provides an opportunity to pause and recognize the men and women who have served our country and are now receiving care in VA medical centers, clinics, nursing homes, and other care settings.

This observance is dedicated to honoring Veterans for their service and sacrifice, highlighting the essential care provided through VA medical facilities, and encouraging communities to show support through visits, acts of kindness, and volunteer efforts.

Throughout this week, simple gestures such as heartfelt conversations, Valentine distributions, and recognition programs can make a meaningful impact. Together, we can help ensure every Veteran feels seen, valued, and remembered.

We are proud to stand alongside our Veteran patients, their families, and our colleagues who have served. Thank you for your bravery, commitment, and dedication to our nation.

February is Black History Month, a time to reflect on and honor the lasting contributions of African Americans whose leadership, resilience, and innovation have shaped our nation’s history and future.

In healthcare, we recognize the African American physicians, researchers, and medical leaders whose dedication has helped advance medicine, expand access to care, and promote equity for generations to come. Their work continues to influence how care is delivered and how communities are served today.

While there are countless individuals whose impact deserves recognition, we are highlighting a few influential figures whose stories remind us of the power of perseverance and purpose.

On National Women Physicians Day, we recognize the incredible women who have shaped medicine through their dedication, compassion, and leadership. Their commitment to caring for others continues to make a lasting impact on patients, families, and communities.

This day is observed on the birthday of Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman to earn a medical degree in the United States. Her courage opened doors for generations of women to pursue careers in medicine and advocate for patient center care.

Today, we proudly celebration all women physicians who follow in her footsteps, bringing knowledge, empathy, and strength to healthcare every day. We are grateful for the difference they make and the example they set for future generations.

February is American Heart Month, a time to bring awareness to heart health and the impact heart disease has on individuals and families across our communities. Heart conditions affect millions of Americans each year and often play a significant role for those living with serious or advanced illness.

💡 Ways to Support Heart Health for Loved Ones
❤️ Encourage nourishing meals that are both heart conscious and comforting
❤️ Support movement or rest that aligns with their energy and abilities
❤️ Help manage medications and stay organized with care plan
❤️ Offer emotional support and reassurance because caring for the heart includes caring for the whole person

At Dierksen Hospice, we believe heart health is about more than physical care. It is about compassion, presence, and honoring the lives and stories of those we serve. This month, we join the conversation by recognizing the importance of awareness, education, and thoughtful support for every heart we care for.

Behind every moment of care is a team that supports one another. National Fun at Work Day is a chance to celebrate the connections that make our work meaningful and allow us to show up fully for the patients and families we serve.
