We would like to introduce our newest staff member Chris Pitman.

Chris is a lifelong resident of Mitchell County and a respected leader in both his community and the funeral service profession. He is a devoted member and deacon of Mitchell Baptist Church and has dedicated his life to serving others with compassion, integrity, and faith.

Chris is a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and pre-need agent with 48 years of experience in the funeral industry. He is a graduate of Mitchell High School, Mayland Community College, and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, combining local roots with professional excellence and education.

For more than four decades, Chris has faithfully guided families through some of life’s most difficult moments, providing comfort, dignity, and trusted care. His personal philosophy reflects his lifelong commitment to service:

“My desire is to serve all families with the utmost dignity and respect, regardless of their financial capabilities.”

Chris has been happily married to his wife, Pam Sparks Pitman, for 42 years. They are proud parents of Mallory Middleton and her husband John, and Jesse Pitman and his wife Lainee. He is also a proud grandfather to Naomi and Ember, with a grandson expected to arrive in June.

Chris’s life and career reflect his deep love for his community, his faith, and his unwavering commitment to helping families during their time of need.

Due to the threat of winter weather the services for Debra Grover will be rescheduled for Friday, January 17, 2025. Receiving friends from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m with the service to follow at 4:00 p.m.

The services for Samuel Gibson will also be rescheduled to Saturday, January 18, 2025. Receiving friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 3:00 p.m.
