Can you spot the bid?

"Bids" are the verbal or non-verbal attempts a person makes to connect with their partner.

Dr. John Gottman refers to bids as “the fundamental unit of emotional communication.” Bids can be small or big, verbal or nonverbal. They might take the form of an expression, question, or physical outreach. They can be funny, serious, or sexual in nature.

Yes, even asking if the fridge is stocked with milk can be an opportunity to turn towards your partner and connect.

Learn all about how to recognize and turn towards bids with help from the Gottman Relationship Coach. Get started today: https://bit.ly/3lkGJL2

Repost from Luis Mojica]

Being in a constant state of trauma/stress response means that your body is creating excess adrenaline. Excess adrenaline means:

⚡️Inflammation of the joints
⚡️High blood pressure
⚡️Fast heartbeat
⚡️Shallow breathing
⚡️Constricted posture
⚡️Eye strain & hyper-vigilance
⚡️Panic attacks & anxiety
⚡️Digestive issues
⚡️Sleep Issues
..& so much more.

This is why we spend years looking for medical answers for our strange symptoms, yet we emerge with no clarity, no form diagnosis, or relief from the symptoms.

Because the source is an invisible charge that must be felt to release. Trauma is the source of that chronic charge in your body that creates adrenaline. It is not in your mind and it is not who you are - it is *what* your body is doing.

Learning to understand and release the charge can also release years of symptoms, pain, and illness. I’m not suggesting that all medical issues are trauma-based. I am sharing that all of mine were.

I recommend listening to Episode 19 of my podcast to learn even more about the impact of adrenaline on the body. This will explain so much more to you. You can listen through the link in Luis Mojica] bio.
