We want to bring awareness to premature births this November for National Prematurity Awareness Month, leading to World Prematurity Day on November 17th.

About 1 in 10 babies in the United States is born preterm, too early.

Many preterm births are preventable. The earlier in pregnancy a baby is born, the more likely they are to have health problems that last a lifetime. Here are some terms to describe a baby's birth you may hear.

Join us this month to raise awareness to keep families strong.

❗ Many families in Marion will soon feel the effects of the SNAP pause effective today, and we know this change can make it harder to put healthy meals on the table. No one should have to face food insecurity alone.

We have gathered some resources and tips to help those through these challenging times:

✅ Calendars of local food pantries and community meals attached
✅ Link to budget-friendly recipes and shopping lists: https://tinyurl.com/BudgetMealResources
✅ Free meals from Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1GvrdiRAoc/) and Mi Jalapeno (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/164HPEPzUp/)
✅ Check with your Medicaid provider for possible meals

If you're in a position to help, please consider donating food, funds, or your time to local pantries and meal programs. Every contribution helps our neighbors in need.

Together, we can make sure Marion remains a place where everyone has access to nourishing food and support.

🎀 Marion Public Health Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness! 🎀

This October, our team is proudly wearing pink to raise awareness and show support for everyone impacted by breast cancer — the survivors, the fighters, and the families who stand beside them. 💕

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the U.S., but early detection saves lives. We encourage everyone to learn the signs, schedule regular screenings, and support those currently fighting this disease.

Together, we can make a difference — one screening, one conversation, and one show of support at a time. 💗

Today kicks off National Health Education Week!

This week is about making health a reality for everyone. The Society for Public Health Education recognizes that every community's health and well-being depends on a variety of physical, social, environmental, and economic factors.

This week, let’s celebrate the educators, advocates, and community members who work every day to create healthier, more equitable communities. Small steps toward education can lead to big changes in health!
