2026: Progress That Sticks
Welcome to February, Team! 💪✨
Let’s be honest—how many of you are still feeling successful with your goals?
Some of you may be crushing it, and to you I say a very loud HECK YA!! 👏
But others may have hit a few bumps, aren’t seeing the results they hoped for, or feel like their wagon has completely stopped.
That can bring up feelings like failure, lack of motivation, insecurity, hopelessness, or “not being good enough.” And while it’s easy to say things like “You’re awesome no matter what!” or “Just get back at it and see what happens,” those words fall flat if you don’t truly believe them yourself. Sometimes, they can even do the opposite of what they’re intended to do.
Here’s the truth:
You can do everything “right”—set goals, rest, go to the gym, meal plan—and still feel like you’re failing or not seeing results.
THIS. DOES. NOT. MAKE. YOU. A. FAILURE.
Recently, I listened to a podcast titled “ #1 Mindset Expert: Simple Mindset Shifts That Transform Your Body, Energy, & Life” from The Mel Robbins Podcast. The guest speaker, Dr. Alia Crum, is a Stanford professor and leading psychology and mindset researcher. She shares powerful research on how our thoughts directly shape our bodies, energy, and overall health.
As Mel explains, Dr. Crum has shown time and time again that our thoughts about exercise, stress, and food often work against us—and more importantly, how we can change that.
They call these automatic (often negative) thoughts “settings.”
And sometimes, we just need to reset them.
If you see exercise as exhausting, miserable, and sweaty, it’s no surprise you don’t feel motivated to show up—or to give it your best effort. If you believe fruits and vegetables are bland and gross… well, they probably will be. But if you start seeing them as colorful, flavorful, nourishing, and a gift to your body, they suddenly become more appealing.
This also isn’t about “dieting” or restricting ourselves. Quite the opposite. It’s about stopping the fight with our bodies and learning to work with them.
If you’ve hit a slump with your goals—or you’re struggling with fear, anxiety, or self-doubt—I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen. I’ve included links and QR codes so you can watch on YouTube or listen on your favorite podcast platform.
Remember:
Just because you haven’t seen the results you want yet does not mean you’re failing. Goals are hard. Progress isn’t linear. Sometimes the adjustment isn’t the goal itself—but the way we look at it, our schedule, our expectations, and most importantly, ourselves.
Get back in there.
Feel confident heading into Valentine’s Day. 💘
And maybe use one of those permission slips to fully indulge in dessert. 🍰😉
You’re not behind—you’re learning. And that’s progress that actually sticks.
