What is Periodontal Disease?
Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection that damages the gums and the bone that supports your teeth. Often starting as gingivitis and progressing to periodontitis if untreated. Which leads to gum recession, deep pockets, and potential tooth loss through mobility, with symptoms like bleeding, redness, swelling, and bad breath, but it can be painless and often goes unnoticed until advanced stages. Oral care is very important because it's directly linked to your overall health. Which impacts your ability to eat, speak, and smile. Ignoring your oral health can lead to heart disease, pneumonia, and diabetes complications. Poor oral health also affects self-confidence and daily functioning.
