🚨 MEDICARE SCAM ALERT – PLEASE SHARE 🚨
We are seeing a new Medicare scam circulating across multiple counties, and we want to make sure our community stays protected.
📞 What’s happening:
Medicare beneficiaries are receiving cold calls from people claiming to be “Medicare.” Callers are saying there is a “Donald Trump Medicare program” that offers:
❌ Discounted prescription drug prices
❌ A grocery benefit card worth $800–$900 per month
Some callers are pressuring people by saying there is a deadline to apply (either end of this month or March 31).
🚫 THIS IS A SCAM.
There is NO Trump Medicare program and NO special deadline to receive a grocery card through Medicare.
✅ What to know:
• Medicare does NOT call you unsolicited
• Medicare does NOT pressure you with deadlines
• Medicare does NOT offer benefits based on political figures
• Any legitimate Medicare changes are shared by mail, not cold calls
👏 In all reported cases so far, beneficiaries did the right thing by hanging up and calling a trusted source (MATCH or SHIIP) to verify.
🛑 What to do if you get this call:
• Hang up immediately
• Do not give personal information
• Call MATCH or your local SHIIP counselor to verify
