This world needs more nurses like Amy Willis! 🌼✨

We are thrilled to announce that Amy Willis is our latest DAISY Award recipient!

Amy was recently nominated by a patient who described her as their "private angel". During a time of high anxiety, Amy’s calm presence, constant smile, and genuine compassion made all the difference.

As her patient beautifully shared: "I could feel her love and compassion from the time I met her... she deserves recognition, although I know that is not why she does it".

Amy, thank you for the heart and soul you pour into Acute Care every day. You make Mission Hospital McDowell a better place for everyone!

Every birth story is unique.🤰 For some moms, it may involve cesarean delivery, also known as a C-section. Doctors perform this major abdominal surgery for a variety of reasons, often related to complications during pregnancy or delivery. If you’re expecting a baby, it’s important to understand the risks and benefits of the procedure. For example, having a C-section increases the chance that you will need a C-section for future deliveries.

Each year, more than 200,000 babies are born in hospitals across our broader HCA Healthcare network. If you’re expecting and exploring your birth options – including when a C section might be recommended – finding the right obstetrician is an important first step. Every year in the U.S., around 900,000 people are diagnosed with serious blood clots, also called venous thromboembolisms (VTEs). More than half of these patients are hospitalized, and many don’t realize what’s happening until symptoms send them to the emergency room. Recognizing the warning signs early – and seeking care fast – can save lives.

Help us celebrate Mission Hospital McDowell's newest DAISY Award winner, Cindy Greene! 🌼

When a patient’s husband was admitted to the 2nd floor, Cindy didn't just provide medical care—she took the situation into her hands with grace and expertise. His family shared that Cindy's "professional and caring ways" and her ability to explain every detail of his care brought them peace during a deeply upsetting time.

Cindy, thank you for being the "best of the best" and for your incredible dedication to our patients and their families!
