McDowell Hospital has served county residents and visitors for more than a century. Our founders—selfless community leaders and compassionate physicians—valued teamwork, excellent care, and superb customer service. We are committed to providing the highest quality care possible. From value-based purchasing to continuous learning by physicians and staff to major renovations now taking place, we are infusing quality into everything we do. We’ve experienced many changes during our long history including several moves to expand services. In 2004 we began an affiliation with Mission Health that brought new resources and services to our community. However, we continue to operate independently, governed by our own Board of Directors. Notice to Patients: No one will be denied access to services due to an inability to pay. There is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.
