Our Story
Where is all started:
It all began in 2017 when we purchased our first Goldendoodle. Harper Mae is an F1B standard Goldendoodle. This was our first “big” family dog. Our first two pets were Yorkshire Terriers weighing in about 5 lbs each. Like the saying goes “small dog, small mess” or something like that. ;) We were absolutely in love from the moment we got Harper and had no idea the love that would ignite in our hearts for the Goldendoodle breed. After about a year of enjoying our sweet little diva, we decided she was ready for a playmate. Que where Lola June comes into the picture, fall of 2018. Miss Lola June is a standard size F1 Goldendoodle. After bringing Lola home we saw how much of a sweet, gentle soul she was and decided she would make a great mother! After countless hours of research and discussion with the family, we decided that it we were going to start breeding. As a family, we are dedicated to the happiness, health, and comfort of all of our pets. We knew traditional breeding wasn’t going to be ideal for us and felt very strongly about being involved in Lola’s health during the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. In the fall of 2019 we found an amazing family in Iowa with a handsome poodle for Lola to mate with. Lola carried on with her normal activities while pregnant, we made sure she had a proper diet and adequate vet visits to monitor the puppies. The vet estimated Lola to be pregnant with 8 puppies. On January 8th, 2020 Lola went into labor. Within a few hours of being in labor Lola had her first puppy. After about a half hour another puppy came, and after the second puppy was born they just kept coming! We assisted Lola during the labor to ensure that everything went well, that she was as comfortable as possible, and that she was properly nourished. This was an amazing experience to witness, we had no idea just how smart dogs were. Lola knew exactly what to do and we were at a loss for words as we watched in awe. At almost midnight on Jan. 8th we had all 8 babies that we were to expect. Knowing the vet had only estimated 8 puppies, we had assumed she was all done. We got Lola all cleaned up and decided it was safe to lay down in the room next to her. A few pushes and an hour later Lola had 10 puppies. The first couple of days were difficult for Lola as the puppies were demanding and there are just so many of them, but again she knew that her puppies needed her and she kept on nursing and taking care of them. The puppies are growing and working on walking, having their eyes open and sitting up. We are so excited for them to go to their new homes but almost can’t imagine life without them. Our hope is to stay in touch with all of the owners’ families so we can see the puppies as they age. We hope you enjoy following along on Lola’s journey with us and appreciate all the love and support we have received.
