Please take action to support the work of the Amputee Coalition!

Who should post their story demanding their Congressmembers save and fund the Limb Loss Resource Center for FY26? Everyone! Amputees, people who were born with congenital limb differences, and everyone who supports the limb loss and limb difference community, including family, friends, caregivers, and providers. Posting your own photos and videos to social media while tagging your members of Congress and Amputee Coalition is highly impactful and effective at raising awareness for how and why a cause is important.

Post a photo or video of you on social media, tag your members of Congress, tag Amputee Coalition. Federal funding for the services through the Limb Loss Resource Center (LLRC) have been eliminated in federal 2026 budget. How does that make you feel?

We are heartbroken by the devastating events involving two individuals who made significant contributions to bettering the lives of people who have disabilities in Minnesota β€” Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, and the heartbreaking loss of Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. Our thoughts are with their families, colleagues, and all who are impacted by this tragedy.

Senator Hoffman, the lead author of So Every BODY Can Move Minnesota bill SF 3351 / HF 3339, has been a steadfast advocate for the disability community. Representative Hortman supported similar efforts for years with the same commitment and care.

Their leadership made real progress possible β€” and we are forever grateful. We remain committed to honoring their impact by continuing this work together, across differences, to build a more compassionate future.

With the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games only two weeks away, let's take to recognize some of our who will be representing us on the world stage!

Howie Sanborn discovered triathlon during his 14-year career as a soldier in the US Army. Howie was no stranger to challenges, having deployed twice to Iraq, earned a Ranger Tab, and secured a coveted spot among the US Army Golden Knights when he began competing in triathlons in 2009. His biggest challenge, however, faced him in 2012, after he was hit by a motorist while on a training ride, resulting in paralysis. Howie quickly transitioned to paratriathlon, competing in his first race only seven months after his injury.

Howie's star rose quickly in the paratriathlon world, where he is a plankowner in the Dare2tri Elite Team. He has won more accolades than you can shake a grid square at, including US National Paratriathlon Champion, 4, North/South American Championships, and 2 World Paratriathlon Series victories. While he earned a spot on Team USA for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, illness prevented him from competing, so the world's 4th-ranked paratriathlete will be competing in his first Paralympics in Paris.
