Alexis is a master's-level counseling student from Liberty University. Our interns bring valuable skills, diverse backgrounds, and enthusiasm to our program, and we are eager to support their growth and learning.📘

We are excited to announce a special speaker event on March 5, 2026!

From Baltimore, Maryland, Brandon was a professional skateboarder discovered by Tony Hawk and rose to fame on the hit MTV show Viva la Bam, and the movies Jackass. As a teen, he became addicted to he**in which lasted for 20 years. He wrote the addiction memoir, Dreamseller, and it became a best seller on Amazon. He also penned The Brandon Novak Chronicles and recently, The Streets of Baltimore. Brandon gives back by helping people into treatment celebrating 10 years clean and nearly 7 years to***co free. 🙏

This Black History Month, we honor the strength, courage, and perseverance of Black leaders and trailblazers who faced profound adversity—and continued forward anyway. Their stories are reminders that progress is often born through struggle, and that resilience is not the absence of hardship, but the determination to rise despite it.

In the recovery community, we deeply relate to this truth. Sobriety is not a single moment of change, but a daily commitment to healing, growth, and hope. Like the leaders who shaped history through persistence and faith in something better, individuals in recovery show extraordinary bravery by choosing themselves again and again—even when the path is difficult.

Black History Month calls us to reflect, honor, and recommit: to equity, to compassion, and to walking alongside one another in the journey toward freedom—freedom from oppression, from stigma, and from addiction.

We celebrate Black excellence, Black resilience, and Black lives—not only this month, but always. And we stand in solidarity with all who are striving, healing, and reclaiming their futures—one day at a time. ✨
