✨ One year as a nurse + officially graduated from nurse residency! 🎉 My coworker and I presented our EBP project, “Affirming Beginnings: LGBTQIA+ Education for Perinatal Nurses,” after discovering a huge gap in education and care for LGBTQIA+ families. 🌈

This past year has been full of growth, learning, and so many meaningful moments at the bedside. I’m beyond grateful for my job, my unit, my coworkers, and all the incredible support people who have been part of this journey. 💜👩🏻‍⚕️

August is World Breastfeeding Month — a time to celebrate, reflect, and honor every journey.
It’s the month a parent weans after months or years of nursing.
The month a NICU parent finally gets to latch their baby for the first time.
The month a parent nurses their child for the very last time, sometimes without realizing it.
The month someone starts pumping for the first time — and someone else decides they’re done.

Every feeding journey is valid. Every drop counts. Every moment matters. 💛

32 years ago, I came into this world as a NICU baby — now I care for them. 💕

Yesterday was my 32nd birthday & I’m so thankful 🥹 From a little fighter in a warmer bed to a NICU nurse standing at the bedside… it’s been a journey of strength, purpose, and so much growth.

Here’s to 32 — and to living with intention, heart, and a whole lot of gratitude. 💫

One year & some change as a nurse and it’s changed me in ways I never expected. 🤍

I’ve held tiny hands, cuddled some sweet babies, witnessed some heartbreaking things, and carried the heavy weight of anxiety of work home more times than I can count.

I’ve questioned myself, gotten frustrated and upset, grown through discomfort, and learned that being a nurse means giving a piece of your heart to every patient.

This year has been full of tears, growth, loss and love.

I’m not the same person I was a year ago. And I’m so proud of her. 🩺🤍

🩵 Birth Trauma Awareness Week 🩵
As a NICU nurse and IBCLC, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of birth trauma. Whether it was an unexpected NICU stay, an emergency delivery, or feeling like your voice wasn’t honored—you are not alone. Your experience is real. Your healing journey matters. ❤️‍🩹 🤱🏽 I also recognize how birth trauma can affect feeding journeys. It’s not just about latch or milk—it’s about trust, recovery, and reclaiming your story. I’ll support you through whatever life throws at you! 💙
