💙🐣 Community. Compassion. Connection. 🐣💙

Last weekend, dozens of families braved the cold to take part in the 13th Annual CIT Easter Egg Hunt—and what an incredible event it was!

This special tradition continues to be a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together to support individuals with special needs. The smiles, laughter, and moments of joy shared throughout the day truly say it all.

At CIT-NJ, we are always proud to highlight programs like this—because they consistently do an outstanding job creating meaningful, inclusive experiences for families across our communities.

👏 A heartfelt thank you to the amazing partners and volunteers who make this event possible year after year:

Pinho’s Bakery

Villani Bus Company

Phillips 66

David’s Touch Foundation

Linden Mayor’s Wellness Campaign

Linden Board of Education

Rahway Police Department

And all of the dedicated volunteers

Your continued support and commitment make a lasting impact—and it does not go unnoticed.

🌟 Events like this are more than just fun—they build trust, strengthen relationships, and remind us why community partnerships matter so much.

Today, we pause for reflection.

On this Good Friday, CIT-NJ honors the meaning of sacrifice, compassion, and unwavering service to others.

In our work with first responders and communities across New Jersey, we are reminded every day of the power of:

🤍 Selflessness
🤍 Empathy
🤍 Standing beside others in their most difficult moments

As many observe this day of reflection and faith, we encourage everyone to take a moment to slow down, check in with themselves, and extend kindness to those around them.

Because in every act of understanding and support—we make a difference.

From all of us at CIT-NJ, we wish you a peaceful and meaningful Good Friday.

Congratulations, Chief.

Congratulations, Chief.

CBH Care was proud to witness the swearing in as Chief of Police in Lyndhurst Michael Carrino. Mike not only co chairs our ARRIVE program in town but is a valuable board member at CBH Care. He is a great advocate for mental health and we are so grateful for his support and dedication. Pictured with him is Sue Devlin, Executive Director, Margaret Lenino, our liaison for the ARRIVE Program in Lyndhurst as well as other towns in Bergen County and Liz Rebein, attorney general’s office. 💚

It's World Autism Awareness Day! Five years ago, Gloucester Township Police unveiled our Paverart artwork/ paver project to recognize Autism and Neurodiversity. That dedication video can be viewed here! https://youtu.be/EwSerpqRzq0 💙💚💛❤️

Paverart designed the artwork and Gloucester Township, New Jersey Mayor David Mayer authorized it to be installed directly in a prominent place, directly in front of the Gloucester Township Municipal Building, so that more people would see it, which would then create conversation. Paverart designed and delivered the pavers and materials for this project. The pavers were proudly installed by the Gloucester Township Public Works Department. 💙💚💛❤️

The Gloucester Township Police Department Chapter of the "Public Safety Alliance For Individuals With Disabilities" A.I.D. program (formerly known as the Special Needs Program) is a voluntary service open to all citizens. The program was created to help police officers and other emergency service personnel to better assist residents with disabilities or special need in the event of an emergency by providing those first responders with vital information regarding a participant’s disability, emergency contact information, a physical description and current photograph of the registrant.
Sign Up Today! https://gtpolice.com/community-page/373 💙💚💛❤️

Another step we have taken to better assist our Gloucester Township community members with Autism and Special Needs is by creating a sticker that can be placed on your vehicle or near the main entrance to your home that will alert an approaching officer that someone in the vehicle or the home could have a special need. We also have seatbelt sleeves that will warn a First Responder during an incident such as a motor vehicle crash that the occupant has Autism and may not respond. 💙💚💛❤️

The Special Needs Registry, as well as the seatbelt sleeves and stickers, are free to our residents. This is just another example of the partnership between the Gloucester Township Police Department and its residents. For a sticker or seatbelt sleeve, please stop in and see our Watch Desk officer at Police Headquarters, 1261 Chews Landing Rd., Laurel Springs, NJ 08021. 💙💚💛❤️

If you have questions please contact our Community Relations Bureau at communityrelations@gtpolice.com or call 856-228-4011. 💙💚💛❤️

Our children don’t need fixing… the world needs understanding. 💙

Every meltdown, every difference, every need—
It’s not a flaw. It’s a signal.

A signal that environments, expectations, and systems weren’t designed with them in mind.

When we shift from “what’s wrong with them?”
to “what can we change around them?”
Everything starts to feel a little more possible.

Thank you to Law Enforcement Advisory Committee member Tim Barlow, Senior Community Relations Specialist for the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, and his son, autism self-advocate Austin Barlow, on guiding law enforcement professionals through an important training.

Their work at the Somerset County Crisis Intervention Team helps build safer, more positive interactions with the autism and IDD communities.

🚀 A Giant Leap Forward—Together 🚀

Today, we look to the skies with inspiration and pride as the Artemis Program continues its mission to return humanity to the Moon and beyond.

At CIT-NJ, we see something powerful in moments like this. The Artemis launch is more than a scientific achievement—it’s a reminder of what can happen when teamwork, training, and trust come together with a shared purpose.

Just like the dedicated professionals behind this mission:

✔ Engineers
✔ Flight controllers
✔ Astronauts

Our first responders and mental health professionals work side-by-side every day—navigating complex, high-pressure situations where preparation and collaboration make all the difference.

🌟 The mission may be different—but the mindset is the same:
• Train relentlessly
• Support one another
• Stay mission-focused when it matters most

As we watch Artemis reach for the Moon, let it serve as a reminder that great things happen when people come together with purpose and compassion.

Safe travels, and "To Infinity and Beyond." "
