Sometimes mood changes, anxiety, brain fog, or sleep disruption aren’t just stress, they can be connected to hormonal shifts happening in the body.

For some women, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) can cause severe mood symptoms in the days leading up to a period. For others, Perimenopause can bring emotional and cognitive changes years before menopause begins.

These experiences are real, common, and often misunderstood. Many women spend years wondering why they suddenly feel different without realizing there may be a biological reason behind it.

Understanding the connection between hormones and mental health can be the first step toward finding the right kind of support.

Children are always listening.

The way we talk about food and bodies becomes the way they talk to themselves.
When appearance and outcomes receive the most praise, kids learn that worth is external. But when they’re valued for effort, kindness, creativity, and persistence, they build resilience and a stable sense of self.

If your child is struggling with food, don’t panic.Stay calm. Stay curious. Get help early.

When to seek professional support:• Rapid weight changes• Fainting, dizziness, or fatigue• Loss of menstrual cycle• Obsessive food rituals• Frequent bathroom trips after meals• Significant mood decline

Primary care + mental health collaboration is key.Medical monitoring is not optional in moderate to severe cases.Early care improves recovery rates.

Eating disorders are often the visible behavior — not the root issue.

Underneath, there’s often anxiety, trauma, or unmet emotional needs.

Behavior can become a coping strategy. A way to regulate emotion and create control when life feels overwhelming.

If we focus only on the food and ignore what’s driving it, relapse risk increases.

Eating disorders don’t have a “look.”
They affect people in all body sizes, genders, and ages.

Often, the signs show up in behaviors, thoughts, and emotional patterns.

Increased rigidity. Guilt after eating. Anxiety-driven exercise. Withdrawal. Perfectionism. Control.

Early support makes a difference.
If something feels off, trust that instinct.

Valentine’s Day can bring pressure — but one day doesn’t define your relationship.
Look for patterns, repair, and emotional safety over perfection.
Mixed feelings are allowed. ❤️

The start of the year often brings pressure to optimize, hustle, and transform.

Sustainable self-care is the opposite of performative productivity. It’s not about face masks and bubble baths (though those are nice) it’s about giving yourself permission to say no, to rest, and to protect your mental energy by creating space for the things that are actually restorative.

Breathe. Pause. Be present.
You’re allowed to slow down this season.

Halloween should be about fun and memories, not stress and perfection. 🎃 Whether you’re a parent feeling the Pinterest pressure or navigating a child’s last-minute costume change, remember: the magic isn’t in getting it “right”—it’s in the moments you create together. Simple costumes make the same memories. Comfort matters more than complexity. Years from now, they’ll remember the excitement, not the price tag.Take the pressure off yourself this Halloween. You’re doing great. 👻 ✨

Mental illness doesn’t choose who is affected by it, but culture, race, gender, or sexual orientation can affect access to treatment, support, and quality of care for many. Minority populations are less likely to receive diagnosis for their behavioral health issues and have less access to mental health services.
