Dr Kevin Gyurina came to me with years of chiropractic and functional health experience but struggled with neck and shoulder pain (left) from prior accidents and his time in sports

We worked together for 5 weeks, 2x a week and these are the amazing results!💥 (right)

I want to introduce you to my good friend Liz! Liz is awesome! 🎉

Liz is 71 years old and has the spirit of someone half her age but she suffers from what many people her age struggle with, the Dowager's Hump, or excessive Kyphosis (rounding of the upper back).

As we age our tissues become more dehydrated, stiffer and less resilient. Add on top of that gravity's forces that act on us every moment of the day and just day to day stress, which if we're not careful can over activate our HPA axis (fancy term for the body's systems responsible for producing cortisol and other stress response hormones)! This can lead to our tissues get even harder, stiffer and more pain!

Below you can see a visible difference in the of her rounding of the upper back in relation to heels!

On the left is her 1st session and on the right is after just her 2nd session with me!

This difference is small and in person it's only about cm, if that but that small tiny difference makes a world of difference when it comes to pain because the body and spine is more aligned!

Small gains = big gains!

Again, this after just 2 sessions! Great things are coming for Liz! 🏆

March of 2020 (left) after nearly 7 years of CrossFit - I could deadlift 450lbs, back squat nearly 400 and run a 6min mile. I considered myself fit and athletic

👉Problem …I woke up nearly everyday with neck pain, back pain and shoulder pain. I’d foam roll and stretch but it was only ever temporary pain relief.

🏋️‍♂️ Back squats, front squats, cleans, overhead presses, it all had compressed my body and my tissues had forgot how to move how they’re biomedically designed to

October of 2022 (middle) I had begun implementing Functional Patterns into my training but I made excuses for myself and wasn’t consistent at all. Plus i kept going back to old forms of training on occasion. Still some slight progress but still nagging pain

March 2025 (right) - I've abandoned all forms of prior training since June of 2024. I’ve trained strictly Functional Patterns methods since. My frame is more stacked, I have way better posture, next to no pain, move better than I did at 30 and got slightly taller 😂
