Shevlin Helps

Shevlin Helps Our mission is to lift individuals, families and communities affected by substance use disorder.

The Peggie & Paul Shevlin Family Foundation (or The Shevlin Family Foundation) offers resources and support to those faced with addiction. Working with Treatment providers, our Scholarship Program provides housing funds for qualified people who are getting ready to discharge from treatment. Our First Helps Program aims to assist with seemingly small (but very important) human needs for those in ea

rly addiction recovery: food, clothing, cell phone assistance, transportation and job helps, as well as, personal ID assistance. Our Journey Program gives our Delaware County clients ongoing support in their firat years of recovery. The Shevlin Family Foundation also offers a Sober Living Program for Men in Chester who have multiple years in long-term recovery. In addition, we help individuals access & navigate treatment options. Through events, service outreach, social media & collaboration with other organizations we educate, build and nurture sober communities.

Still basking in the glow of last week's Ribbon Cutting! Located in Media, the Shevlin Family Center serves as a welcoming space where families affected by substance use disorder (SUD) can access resources, education and a sense of community.

We are so grateful for our community, Delaware County, and the Opioid Settlement Funds that have made care and support more accessible for family members affected by SUD. We recover together! 💪💙

What a special day of connection and creativity!🎨 Our “Grand” Art Workshop brought together grandparents raising their grandchildren for a time to slow down, create, and simply enjoy being together. A special thank you to our artist, Eric Ayers, who guided everyone through their drawings and helped bring out each person’s creativity. To our grands, thank you for letting us honor the strength, love, and dedication that lives in your families every single day. 💛

Our Story

We support individuals in early recovery who can’t (yet) help themselves. Primarily, we provide persons from Delaware County (and surrounding areas) - who are just coming out of treatment, with basic human needs: food, housing, legal support, work clothes, transportation, encouragment, friendship and family support. We also understand how challenging it can be to navigate the treatment system and offer assistance when there is a willingness to get clean. From time to time we sponsor educational and sober social events for individuals and families afflicted with addiction to build community and have fun!! We are a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt public charity and rely on your financial support to make a difference in our community! Thank you for your support! You can donate, volunteer or learn more about us at www.shevlinfamilyfoundation.org.
