💙 Congratulations to Chris Alderton, RN Supervisor 💙

Today we say farewell to Chris Alderton, RN Supervisor, who has been a steadfast advocate for our residents and teammates since August 14, 2006.

After nearly 19 years of dedicated service, Chris has earned her Nurse Practitioner License and is moving forward to the next chapter of her career. While we couldn’t be prouder, her departure leaves a tremendous void on our team.

Throughout her time at Norlite, Chris has been a cornerstone of leadership and compassion. She built strong relationships with residents, families, and staff alike—and served as a vital liaison for the UPHS Resident Physician Team and the NMU Fundamentals Course. She played a major role in establishing restorative programs for residents, and she has spent countless hours speaking with residents and their representatives to ensure that each plan of care reflects the resident’s wishes and dignity.

Chris is the very definition of a team player—always willing to take on any task needed to ensure residents receive exceptional care and the team remains supported and uplifted. She is a fighter, an advocate, and a true leader, whose compassion and professionalism have shaped Norlite in immeasurable ways.

We wish Chris the very best in her new endeavors and have no doubt that the impact she makes in this next chapter will be just as remarkable as her 19-year Norlite legacy. 💐

Thank you, Chris, for everything. You will be dearly missed.

💙 Farewell & Best Wishes to Katie Bruinekool 💙

Today we say goodbye to one of Norlite’s most dedicated nurses, Katie Bruinekool.

Katie has been part of the Norlite family since January 2011, first serving as a Charge Nurse and for the past four years as our Restorative LPN. For many years, she was affectionately known as the facility’s “bath nurse”—ensuring residents’ hygiene, comfort, skin, and nails were in excellent condition. While her employment has only been 14 years, her ties to the Norlite family go back decades, as her mother was employed at Norlite for 30 years, and Katie had a regular presence in these halls even as a child and teenager.

Katie’s care has always gone far beyond her job title. She is dependable, reliable, and deeply compassionate, often jumping in to assist CNAs and even stepping into CNA shifts when needed. Her professionalism, kindness, and positive attitude have made a lasting impact on residents and coworkers alike. She arrives with a smile, ends the day with a smile, and gives her heart to those she serves.

While we’re sad to see her go, we are incredibly proud of her for taking the next step—returning to school to pursue a degree in Office Administration. It takes great courage and determination to go back to school, and we know she’ll bring the same heart and dedication to this new chapter that she brought to Norlite every single day.

Thank you, Katie, for your years of care, teamwork, and compassion. You will be missed by everyone—especially the Restorative team, CNAs, and residents—but the door will always remain open for you at Norlite. 💐

🌟 Norlite’s Teammate of the Month: James Trevethan! 🌟

Please join us in congratulating James Trevethan as our October Teammate of the Month!

Jamie joined Norlite’s Housekeeping Department in June, and since day one he has made a lasting impression with his dependability, positivity, and strong work ethic. He is always happy and willing to help—often going above and beyond his housekeeping responsibilities to support the nursing staff, who frequently share high praise for his efforts.

Jamie is kind to everyone, residents and staff alike. He takes the time to connect with residents, showing true care and compassion, and is always quick to respond to staff requests. No matter the task, he gets it done without hesitation and always with a positive attitude.

He is an excellent example of the high standards and teamwork we value at Norlite and HCSG. We are very fortunate to have him as part of our team, and we are proud to recognize his dedication and contributions.

✨ Honorable Mention: Analise Babcock ✨

We also want to extend a very special recognition to Analise Babcock, who actually received the most votes this month. Analise was named Teammate of the Month last year and has since been promoted to Assistant Director. She continues to set a high bar with her hard work, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

Analise is an extremely valuable part of our team, and though she is not eligible to win the award again so soon, we want to acknowledge her outstanding contributions and thank her for her continued dedication.
