The nurses of MGH RN Staff Council welcomes all the UPHS Bell RN’s to the Michigan Nurses Association 🎉

With a unanimous vote of 51-0, nurses at UP Health System - Bell have voted to form a union with the Michigan Nurses Association. They will soon be able to begin contract negotiations.

Congratulations to the technical and ancillary staff at UPHS Marquette as well as the nurses at Aspirus Keweenaw- both groups have ratified their first ever collective bargaining agreement 🎉🎊

With only 10 days left before our contract expires we have a group of nurses and techs out in the community distributing yard signs in support of our contract efforts. If you would like to support both the nurses and the techs during this contract negotiation please let us know. We would be happy to drop off a sign for your yard. Due to scheduling conflicts the all day meeting set for Monday, February 21,2022 has been rescheduled to Monday March 21,2022. There will be a regular monthly membership meeting on February 21, 2022 at 5:30pm. We will be discussing bylaws changes at the meeting on so please take some time to attend. Today we had the distinct honor of speaking with Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist at our office. We had nurses from all over the hospital including ICU, ED,FBC, NICU and OR having a heart felt discussion about the short staffing, long hours and LifePoints motto “A nurse is a nurse is a nurse.” We all know our patients and community deserve better than this as do we as staff. It’s time for LifePoint to Invest or Leave!!
