🎉 Celebrating 10 Years with Laura Lucas! 🎉

This month, we’re honored to celebrate a decade of dedication from Laura Lucas, who joined our team in December 2015 as a certified pharmacy technician after working in a large chain pharmacy.

From day one, Laura embraced the close-knit spirit of our community. She brings a level of care, compassion, and personal connection that truly sets our pharmacy apart helping patients in ways that big-name pharmacies simply can’t.

Laura, we are truly grateful that you chose to join our team ten years ago. Thank you for your commitment, your kindness, and the difference you make each and every day!

At HSHP, we believe no one should ever have to skip treatment or feel intimidated by the cost of care or a lack of insurance. Everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and healthy. That’s why we offer a Sliding Fee Discount Program based on family size and income to help make care more affordable for those who need it most.

If you’re worried about cost, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help, without judgment. 💙

Stay healthy this holiday season!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but between the busy schedules, sweet treats, and festive events, it’s easy to forget to take care of ourselves.

A little movement, good sleep, handwashing, and mindful choices can go a long way in helping you feel your best, so you can enjoy every moment.

Cheers to a joyful, healthy holiday season! 🎄

Small But Mighty 💪

Sometimes big impact comes from humble beginnings, and our Laurel Medical Center is living proof of that.

What began as a tiny clinic operating out of a rented farmhouse has grown into a full-service primary care center, all thanks to the determination of our founders, the dedication of volunteers, and the unwavering support of our rural Appalachian community.

Today, Laurel Medical Center may still be our smallest clinic building
but the care, heart, and history inside it are anything but small.

From wellness visits and chronic care to compassionate, community-rooted support, the Laurel team continues the mission that started decades ago:
bringing high-quality healthcare close to home.

💙 To everyone who has supported, staffed, or received care at Laurel- you’re part of the story, and we’re proud to continue it together!

Today, we recognize International Day of Persons with Disabilities - a reminder that inclusive communities don’t just happen, we build them together.

Let’s celebrate the strengths, voices, and contributions of individuals with disabilities, and continue working toward a world where everyone has equal access, opportunity, and respect.

Accessibility matters. Inclusion empowers. Everyone belongs. 💙✨

December 1st is World AIDS Day ❤

Today, we honor the strength, resilience, and courage of those living with HIV/AIDS and remember the lives and stories of those we’ve lost.

World AIDS Day is not only about awareness , but also about compassion. It’s about breaking down stigma, ending misinformation, and making sure every person feels seen, supported, and valued.

Here are a few ways you can make a difference today and every day:

✨ 1. Use respectful, people-first language.
Words matter. Say “a person living with HIV,” not “HIV-positive person.”
✨ 2. Share facts - not myths.
HIV cannot be transmitted through hugging, sharing food, or casual contact. Knowledge saves lives.
✨ 3. Encourage testing and treatment.
With the right care, people living with HIV can live long, full, and healthy lives.
✨ 4. Speak up when you hear misinformation or hurtful jokes.
Silence allows stigma to grow but your voice can help stop it.
✨ 5. Show empathy and kindness.
Behind every diagnosis is a real person with dreams, family, and purpose.
✨ 6. Celebrate progress.
HIV is not a death sentence. Treatment, prevention, and awareness have transformed the future.

Today, we honor. We remember. And we commit to a kinder, more informed world, where no one faces HIV/AIDS alone or with shame.
