At Barberry, there is no membership, you just pay for the classes you sign up for. That’s it.

First class is free for new customers!

January’s class list: (all levels)

Tuesdays:
- Heavy Bag Boxing 11:30-12pm
- Strength 12-12:30pm
- Functional Fitness 12:30-1pm

Wednesdays:
- Circuit Class (strength & boxing) 12-12:45pm

Thursdays:
- Strength 12-12:30pm
- Yoga-ish 12:30-1pm

HEALTH FIX FOR 2026! Looking for a 2026 motto to live by?

Healthy lifestyle = Healthy life!

There’s no magic in it.

If you would just concentrate on “I wanna be healthy”, just think of the amazing things that might happen….

Want better sleep? 😴
More energy? 🏃‍♀️
Less stress? ☺️
Lower disease risk? 🩺
Sharper mind? 🧠
Stronger body? 💪🏻
Increased self-esteem? 😉
Longer life? ♥️
More control? 👊🏻
Greater productivity? 💥

To go about doing this, think of your long term goal, but break it down into do-able short term goals.

Those are the ones that matter!

Maybe, things like:

🧨 No sugar before 2pm.
🧨 30 grams of fiber per day.
🧨 Healthy protein with every meal.
🧨 30 minutes of intentional exercise daily
🧨 8 hours of quality sleep nightly.

Goals shouldn’t be set up to achieve 100% of the time. Allow yourself some grace.

90% achievement is ideal. 💯

DID YOU CHEAT? I know I did. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Holidays are tough on your health & wellness journeys. But, it doesn’t matter.

This is called LIFE.

I’ll always cheat, but the key to staying on track long term is consistency.

Cheating here and there isn’t a big deal. I cheated 3 days this week, but today? Back on track.

I kept my workouts steady, but the sugar intake was over the top! 😂

So today, no added sugar. 🚫

On track. 🚂

Don’t sweat it! Cheat for a family or friend get-together, and then get back on track the next day. 👊🏻

Some tricks I used to stay on track but still cheat!?😉

- focused on healthy proteins with each meal
- adding in fiber whenever I can
- having my added sugar treat after a meal
- skipped the alcohol 🍺 🍷
- getting quality sleep
- exercised every day even if it wasn’t much

Another holiday next week…. We got this! 🧨🎉

STOP EXERCISING FOR WEIGHT LOSS! 😳 Exercising and moving your body is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your health - but it is NOT for weight loss.

Exercise is good for…

🏃🏼‍➡️ your heart
🏃🏼‍➡️ disease prevention
🏃🏼‍➡️ bones & muscle strengthening
🏃🏼‍➡️ energy & stamina
🏃🏼‍➡️ functional fitness
🏃🏼‍➡️ mental health
🏃🏼‍➡️ better quality sleep
🏃🏼‍➡️ brain function
🏃🏼‍➡️ and so much more!

But it is not ideal for weight loss - that comes from your diet and lifestyle.

The only exercise that will affect your weight would be strength training because the more muscle you have, the more calories you’ll burn 🔥 - but, you’ll also be hungrier! 😳 So it’s a very thin line you must follow.

As you are thinking about your upcoming 2026 goals, be sure to include exercise for muscle building and overall health & wellness and if needed weight management from diet and lifestyle.

⚠️STAY ON TRACK THIS WEEK! Here are some tricks/tips on how to stay on track this weekend, but still enjoy the holidays!

🫐 Eat a healthy breakfast!
🏋️‍♂️ Exercise every day.
🍬 Save the sweets for after your meal.
🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️ Walk or dance after each meal.
🍽️ Have lots of lean protein and fiber at each meal.
🛏️ Get 7-8 hours of quality sleep nightly.
🤣 Laugh and have fun!

Enjoy the week and just do a few little things to help keep you on track and motivated. 🎄🎁

GOTTA LOVE AI and the superhuman images it gives us.

AI loves to remove my freckles and wrinkles. It always gives me a voluminous chest. 😳 And, well, I’m 20 years younger and everything is just perfect…. 👏🏻

The problem in today’s “super skinny” wanna-be world, it blurs the lines between real and fake.

Now, we are all trying to present ourselves in this idealistic universe that is negatively impacting body image and self-esteem, especially for young people.

Mix in the new miracle weight loss drugs… We are re-creating the 1980’s eating disorder society, where we’ll do anything to be skinny.

Don’t become part of the new sick-care generation.

Focus on your health journey.

DON'T BE A GRINCH! 🎄 Funny post as the No Added Sugar Challenge is happening this week! 🤣

But, I want everyone to know that we are doing the No Added Sugar Challenge this week, hopefully before most of the holiday celebrations. This is to get you to understand that you can SAY NO and control your diet during the holidays.

I also want you to know that it's ok to have a cookie (or 2) during your celebrations. Don't be a grinch about it, just have 1 and then get back on your health journey the next day.

We can't be 100% perfect all the time, so don't try to be. That sets you up for failure.

Practice moderation (1-2 small cookies) for your celebration, savor each bite mindfully, balance treats with nutritious foods (veggies, lean protein), keep up activity, and don't restrict, which prevents guilt and binge cycles, allowing for guilt-free enjoyment.

Focus on overall balance, not perfection, by making smart swaps in baking and prioritizing movement.

And enjoy your celebrations! 🎄🎁🔔⛄
