Our hands were busy and our hearts were happy as we made a festive turkey craft! While putting together our turkeys we learned that the top of the red part of the turkey's beak is called a snood and the bottom part is called a wattle. Did you know that the turkey almost was our national bird. The eagle beat us out beat it out by a feather. We also voted on our favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner. Although, turkey was right up there, it was pie that one out in the end. Well these little birds look like they are ready to strut into Thanksgiving!

From our Boulder Creek house to yours we wish you a prayer of Thanksgiving!
May each and everyone of you stay safe, blessed, and healthy this Thanksgiving holiday.

A Thanksgiving Prayer for Caregivers of Dementia Patients
Gracious Lord, on this day of Thanksgiving we come to You with hearts heavy and laden with the burden of care. We are weary, feeling the sting of frustration from our demanding roles. Mercifully, Lord, grant us the rest our bodies and spirits long for. As You forgave and refreshed so many before us, please help us find rest in Your love. With grateful hearts, we look forward to Your divine restoration. Divine Protector, anoint us, the caregivers of the elderly, with Your peace as we labor in compassion. Endow us with unending strength to serve with the humility You have instilled in our hearts. As we tenderly attend to the elderly, whether family, friend, or neighbor, inspire empathy and love within us beyond measure. May Your light guide our path to provide solace and warmth, ensuring their golden years are filled with comfort. So their final years may be full and able to be lived to the fullest.
We, as caregivers on this difficult journey with our beloved dementia patients, humbly seek Your wisdom. Each day presents new challenges, testing our resolve and patience. Grace us with the strength to remain ceaselessly supportive. We ask You for hope. Hope that imbues our hearts with the courage to continue navigating this uncharted terrain. As we bear witness to their struggles, may Your love infuse us with empathy deep enough to understand their pain and joy profound enough to appreciate their lucid moments. In Your name, Amen.

The opening night of the Prairie Home Hospice Light Up The Night Festivities Kick off next Friday. Only One Week Away!!
Join us for the Downtown Parade that starts at 6 pm from the Wooden Nickel and travels down Main Street and then down Lyon St to Independence Park.
After the Parade (around 7 pm), fireworks from Powerhouse Fireworks and sponsored by Hellmuth & Johnson. And then to cap off the festive evening, enjoy the music of our own local talent Kayla Daniels. It will be a fun evening to kick off the holiday season! See you there!!

Boulder Creek opened its doors in 2014. It is a facility focused on establishing a stable foundation for adults with dementia through service, community, choice and individuality. The building is designed to offer a homey atmosphere where tenants can feel free to explore and not feel confined to limited areas.

Our focus is to create an incredible quality of life for those with memory loss. Through activities, and the relationships we build with our tenants and their families; we help our tenants to live life to the fullest every day.
