Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, cases are rising in Texas.

Whooping cough can be very dangerous for babies and young children.

The best way to protect yourself and others is to stay up to date on vaccines.

Wash your hands often and cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.

Avoid close contact with people who are sick and do not share food, utensils, or personal items.

If you think you have whooping cough, stay home and call your doctor before going in. Ask your health care provider about medicine that can help prevent you from getting sick.
