As we step into Thanksgiving week and begin gathering with the people we cherish the most, we're often reminded of the ones who won't be at the table this year. Grief has a way of showing up during the holidays, sometime quietly, sometimes all at once, and one of the kindest things we can do for someone is to simply say their loved one's name.

When you talk about someone who has died, you honor the life they lived. You remind a grieving heart that their person is not forgotten. You open the door for stories, for memories, for moments that bring a little warmth back into the room.

This thanksgiving, don't be afraid to speak their name. Love doesn't end and neither should the memories.
