With this day, our physical presence in Eau Claire comes to a close. All agency furnishings have been donated to Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Our goal in establishing a presence here was to contribute to the community, and since this decision aligns with the community's best interests at this time, then it is the right one.

Unfortunately, the city of Eau Claire failed to fulfill the commitments made when we were recruited to address the gap left by hospital closures.

As of July 19, 2025, Gateways Counseling Services transitioned to a telehealth-only model, enabling us to provide statewide telehealth services and engage a more extensive team of qualified professionals. We remain available to support anyone in need across Wisconsin by calling 715-898-1665.

Matthew Deets, MSE, is a professionally trained life and relationship coach with over a decade of experience as a helping professional, including counseling and coaching, and is a certified financial coach with Ramsey Solutions.

Matthew is passionate about working with individuals and couples to achieve their life and relationship goals, including: managing stress, prioritizing time, mastering emotions, overcoming fears, increasing confidence, enhancing communication, improving relationships, adapting to change, and gaining financial literacy skills.

It is with great sadness that Gateways Counseling Services has to report the closure of our physical location in Black River Falls effective August 24, 2023.
Since coming to Black River Falls in 2016 we have enjoyed supporting many events and community needs and efforts. Over the last 18 months unfortunately, the number of people not showing up for their scheduled appointments has made it no longer possible financially to maintain a physical location in Jackson county.

We will fully still be servicing Jackson County residents through telehealth services out of our Marshfield Wisconsin office. If you are a current client being affected or you wish to become a new client, please call our offices at 715-898-1665.
Our telehealth services do not require the downloading of any apps. You will receive an email from our Reception office with a clickable link that any smart phone can access or computer.

It is with a very heavy heart that Gateways Counseling Services is announcing the closure of our Neillsville location. Effective November 24, 2021 physical services will no longer be provided in the Neillsville community. Our Black River Falls and Marshfield locations will remain open and services will still be provided to individuals from this community via Tele health or visiting one of those two locations. As a reminder to anyone on Medicaid or badger care regardless of your HMO if you have one, you are all entitled to free transport to any appointments at Gateways Counseling Services by calling MTM Transport at 866-831-4130.
Current clients being seen at this location will continue to be seen through November 24 and can discuss with staff prior to that plans going forward.

Gateways Marshfield office has gained a new member to the team. Clinical Psychologist Dr. Adam and his wife Joanne have relocated here from the Green Bay Area. Dr. Adam is a clinical psychologist as well as an addiction specialist with openings as early currently as October 18. Dr. Adam treats both youth and adults for assessment, and counseling services. Call Gateways today to make your appointment at 715-898-1665. Gateways is in network with over 1000 insurance plans and accepts both Medicaid and Medicare. Both day and evening hours available Monday-Thursday.
