Have you ever seen one of those fitness competition shows on TV with that guy or girl yelling at some overweight person to do just one more sit-up? How about the infomercial with that guy with his shirt off telling you that if you buy this program you too could have 6 pack abs? Maybe its the one with the girl who said do these exercises to get a flat stomach or a firm butt.
I can tell you right now they are not personal trainers. A good personal trainer doesn't lie to you to sell you something. A personal trainer is the one who is going to work with you 1 on 1 through the emotional roller coaster of life. They are the one who sets up realistic expectations of weight loss. They are the one who explains why every diet works temporarily and you end up gaining back more weight than you started with. They are the one who helps you restructure your habits so that your health goals can be met permanently. They are the one who wakes up at 4 am to edit your workout plan because it isn’t having the effects that it should. They are the one who listens and helps you sort all the stress going on in life. They are the one who wakes up with a purpose to change your life one day at a time. They are the one who tells you the brutally honest truth that you are the only one who can change the way you are. They are the one who will hold you accountable to yourself.
Ughh its Monday... Thank God Its Friday!!! Most jobs when you get home from work you feel free. That’s not the case for trainers. When we get home from the gym we kick it into high gear. At home we spend our time researching, calling professionals for advice, building and tweaking programs, writing meal plans, and pondering new ways to help you. We conduct home visits, scheduling, and phone calls, all to see how you are doing.
We are already free to do what we love. We get the opportunity to make a difference in your life. This isn’t a chore, it is a way to help someone that struggles with something that is extremely personal and emotional, and sadly, sometimes, its a last chance at life itself. We do this because we want to help. We enjoy it, and I promise that if you join us you will too.
