Happy Marathon Monday! While the runners are counting miles let's go through some MILEstones! (...get it?)
No baby comes into the world knowing how to say every sound. Here are current guidelines on when kiddos start to use their sounds correctly, and when a speech referral is warranted. The most common age we get referrals is 4-5, but we have helped children with their speech as young as two!

Outpatient speech and school speech may sound the same, but they can look very different! That doesn't mean one provider is wrong or right. While there are differences here, we know that ALL SLPs, no matter where they work, want to provide the best quality care they can to their kiddos! We're happy to collaborate with schools and other providers to help all our clients succeed.

Here's the thing....it's not that big of a deal if your child doesn't eat a vegetable at a (or any) meal. To balance nutrition, offer 1 protein source, 1 produce, and 1 carbohydrate. It's not that we expect them to eat all three, but having all three on the plate makes for a balanced meal.

Another day another box of tissues 😷 Reminder that if you or your kiddo isn't feeling their best, we offer telehealth options! We ask that clients cancel their sessions in the event a child has presented with: fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or positive Flu, COVID, or conjunctivitis in the past 24-48 hours. Stay healthy out there!
