Not everyone can work with kids. Children are struggling to figure out the complexities of thier own lives, and it takes someone willing to be kind and patient.

You must be willing to keep yourself regulated, as you teach regulation skills to the youth.

You have to recognize the behaviors being exhibited are not about you; it's actually a calling out for help and support.

We’re honored to partner with Cycle Recycle and Love Out Loud Winston-Salem to surprise our boys with bikes—many receiving their very first one. Mollie and Sara loaded up those bikes at got them back to campus with smiling faces.

At Anderson Health Services, we serve boys ages 7–17 who’ve experienced trauma and face medical and/or mental health challenges. Today, we get to show them that they are seen, valued, and celebrated—even when it’s not Christmas.

Moments like this remind us what true compassion looks like in action. Thank you to our new partners for making joy possible.

🌟 Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! 🌟

We are beyond grateful for the compassionate hearts and unwavering dedication of our educators. Today, we want to celebrate Stephanie and Todd, two remarkable team members who embody what it means to teach with purpose.

📚 As educator and advocate Rita Pierson once said, “Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists they become the best they can possibly be.”

Stephanie and Todd are those champions.

Serving boys ages 7 to 17 who have experienced significant trauma, as well as medical and mental health challenges, requires more than instruction. It requires heart, flexibility, and deep commitment. With 30 kids now in our care, these two have remained adaptable, consistent, and always person-centered in their approach.

They don’t just teach; they uplift. They see the whole child. They create space for healing while still pushing for growth. And they do it all without skipping a beat.

Having been with us for over a year, it's been a joy to watch Stephanie and Todd grow alongside Anderson. As our mission expands, so does the impact of leaders like them.
