Welcome Health

Welcome Health Direct Primary Care for individuals, families and businesses in the CRSA His patients were delighted with the change and his practice grew.

Welcome Health grew out of the practice started by Dr. Rob Lamberts in the beginning 2013. Frustrated with how normal primary care gives little attention to the needs of the patient, he left his old practice and became one of the pioneers of Direct Primary Care. This success caught the attention of Davis Mellick and Ed Boland who were also exhausted by the usual business of healthcare. They saw this as a chance to escape the hamster wheel of fee-for-service medicine and practice in a patient-centered world.

Sleep isn’t just rest. 😴 It’s one of the most important drivers of your overall health.

Poor sleep can impact everything from your immune system and hormone balance to weight, mood, and heart health. ❤️ And when sleep is off, it often shows up in other ways—fatigue, brain fog, irritability, and even chronic conditions over time.

The challenge is that sleep issues aren’t always simple. Stress, lifestyle, underlying health conditions, and even medications can all play a role.

That’s where having direct access to your provider makes a difference.

At Welcome Health, we take the time to look at the full picture. Longer visits, ongoing conversations, and easy communication mean we can help you get to the root of what’s affecting your sleep—not just treat the symptoms.

Better sleep starts with better care. 🌿

More than 100 million Americans struggled to access primary care in 2023—nearly double the number from a decade ago.

Yet people who regularly see a primary care physician tend to have lower overall healthcare costs.

Forward-thinking employers are recognizing that improving access to care isn’t just about convenience—it’s about prevention, healthier employees, and long-term cost management.

That’s why many businesses are exploring Direct Primary Care (DPC).

With Direct Primary Care at Welcome Health, employees benefit from:
✔ Same- or next-day appointments
✔ Longer visits with a physician
✔ Direct communication with their care team
✔ Transparent monthly pricing

Care can be delivered through in-clinic visits, telemedicine for remote employees, site visits, or even near-site locations for larger employers. Advanced tools like Nonagon diagnostics also help deliver faster answers without unnecessary delays.

Better access to primary care leads to healthier teams and more predictable healthcare costs.

💙 | National Cancer Prevention Month

According to the National Institutes of Health, nearly 1.9 million Americans are diagnosed with cancer each year—and more than 40% of cases are linked to preventable causes.

This is where prevention matters.

At Welcome Health, our Direct Primary Care (DPC) model is built around proactive, relationship-based care—not rushed visits or reactive medicine. With more time, easier access, and consistent follow-up, we focus on:
✔️ Regular screenings and early detection
✔️ Lifestyle and risk-factor management
✔️ Ongoing conversations about nutrition, movement, and overall wellness

Prevention doesn’t happen in a 10-minute appointment. It happens through trust, access, and care that looks ahead—not just at today.

💬 This Wellness Wednesday, take a step toward prevention.

Our Story

I worked for 18 years doing primary care for adults and children in the insurance-run health care system. In February of 2013 I opened my new "direct care" practice, a practice where I work for the people in health care that really matter: my patients. For a low monthly fee I provide: 1. Office visits at no additional cost 2. Lab tests, procedures, and medications (when possible) at low cost. 3. Problems handled via secure messaging, video conference, phone calls, text messages, whatever my patients want. I don't force people to come in for problems I can handle using easier means. 4. High level of customer service.

I don’t accept money from insurance companies, although many of my patients still have insurance (which I encourage). I find that money from insurance companies (or Medicare/Medicaid) take the focus off of the patient, distract the medical staff, and generate a huge amount of increased work and headache for everyone. Primary care should be simple. It should be between the doctor and the patient and focus more on health than sickness. Our system (with insurance) does the opposite.

Since opening in 2013 my practice has grown to over 700 patients, and I’m still able to give people better care than I have ever been able to give.
