February 4th is World Cancer Day.

On this date in 2000, lead by the Union for International Cancer Control, the Paris Charter was signed at the World Summit Against Cancer. This was established to raise awareness, promote research, improve patient care, and mobilize global action against cancer.

This Charter designated February 4th as World Cancer Day to keep its goals at the forefront.

Its purpose is to unite us in the fight against cancer by highlighting prevention, early detection, treatment, and the need for equitable access to care.
