Congratulations to these dedicated families that completed The United Way Born Learning Academy! This academy equips parents, caregivers and communites with tools to create early learning opportunities for their young children. Thank you to our amazing School Readiness staff for partnering with Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way.

Some of our preschool staff had the opportunity to participate in the amazing Ooey Gooey, Inc conference this weekend.

The heart of the "Ooey Gooey" philosophy is a mission to transform early childhood education by reinforcing the power of play. Lisa Murphy's work focuses on what it truly means to run a child-centered, play-based environment.The main takeaway is a deeper understanding of the "Why" behind every activity and every material we provide. Play is not just time to pass; it is the glue that holds the entire foundation of learning together. By providing hands-on, sensory-rich (Ooey Gooey) experiences, we are ensuring children are actively engaging in the fundamental things they need to build their future academic success. I absolutely LOVE seeing our students engaging in fun, engaging and messy activities you plan for their learning.
