General & Laparoscopic Surgical Associates is a private practice in Maryville, Illinois since 1992. Dr. Charles Lane, Dr. Richard Wikiera, Dr. Daniel Johnson, Dr. David Chung & Kelsy Wasmuth, N.P. provide a broad range of surgical treatment including abdominal surgery, hernia repair, breast cancer treatment. They are also experienced in traditional laparoscopic techniques to treat gallbladder disease, benign & malignant colon disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease and abdominal wall hernias. Dr. Charles Lane received his M.D. degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. He completed his internship & residency at The Jewish Hospital of St. Louis at Washington University School of Medicine. He is Board Certified in General Surgery. Dr. Richard Wikiera received his D.O. degree from the University of Medicine and Biosciences, Kansas City, MO. He completed his internship & residency at Des Peres Hospital, St. Louis, MO. He is board certified in General Surgery.
Dr. Daniel Johnson received his M.D. degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. He completed his residency at Southwestern Michigan Area Health, Kalamazoo, MI and University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. He is board certified in General Surgery.
Dr. Chung received his M.D. degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City. He completed his residency at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, OH. He is board certified in General Surgery.
Kelsy Wasmuth, N.P. is a certified nurse practitioner. She has been certified since 2017. Formerly, she practiced in Salem, IL working in acute care & medicine. She received her masters degree as a family nurse practitioner Maryville University in St. Louis, MO. She is also a graduate of Millikin University with a Bachelors of Science in nursing. She practiced as a critical care nurse for 5 years prior to advancing her degree.
