Did you know Community Health Centers serve 1 in 7 Americans while accounting for just 1% of total U.S. health care spending? Federal funding for health centers like ours is set to expire this month, putting millions of patients at risk of losing access to care. We encourage our community to learn more and take action to help protect funding here: https://bit.ly/CHC-Funding

As Community Health Centers (CHCs) mark 60 years of saving lives and dollars, they need your help. Federal funding that keeps CHCs open expires January 30, 2026. Without action from Congress, patient access is at risk.

CHCs now care for more patients than ever before, serving 52 million people across 17,000 locations nationwide. They include:

✅ Over 10 million rural residents (1 in 3)

✅ More than 20 million people who live in poverty (1 in 3)

✅ More than 6 million uninsured people (1 in 5)

CHCs serve 1 in 7 Americans, yet account for only 1% of total U.S. healthcare spending, saving Medicaid and Medicare billions of dollars annually by reducing costly emergency, inpatient, and specialty care.

America needs Community Health Centers. Together, we must ensure that every Community Health Center can continue delivering high-quality, affordable care that saves lives.

This weekend marked an exciting milestone for Cape Cod! We celebrated the groundbreaking of the future Don & Dottie Smith YMCA, a space that will strengthen health, connection and community for years to come.

CHC is proud to partner with YMCA Cape Cod on this transformational project, which will bring integrated health and wellness services together under one roof. When complete, the 73,000-square-foot facility will serve more than 10,000 people across our community each year. The new facility will have a dedicated Community Health Center space, and will strengthen the health and wellness of our community through collaboration, shared facilities and joint programming.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to care, prevention and wellness across our community. We are inspired by the collective generosity and vision making this future possible! Learn more about this project here: https://ymcacapecod.org/our-y/uppercape/upper-cape-y-in-the-news/

Our Story

Community Health Center of Cape Cod is a one-stop destination for all your health care needs. We have three offices located in Mashpee, Falmouth and Bourne.

Community Health Center of Cape Cod functions like any doctor’s office, offering services such as office visits, checkups, screenings and management for your chronic conditions. But we offer so much more — such as dental, vision and behavioral health, family planning and an onsite pharmacy.

Our focus is on providing the very best healthcare — the same as you will get in any doctor’s office on Cape Cod — as well providing programs and education that help improve the overall health status of everyone living in our region.

We are a non-profit organization that cares for all patients, regardless of your ability to pay or insurance status. And if you don’t have insurance, our experts will provide a free financial screening to determine if you qualify for any public health benefits programs. Those without insurance coverage are expected to make payments for their visits, often based on a sliding scale and determined by the results of your financial screening.
