Mashpee Permanent Firefighters Local 2519 stands with the people of Jamaica as they recover from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Melissa. One of our own members has family in Bluefields Bay — an area hit especially hard — and his mother has organized this GoFundMe to support relief efforts directly in their community.

Unlike larger relief operations that are struggling to reach rural areas, this effort has a direct line to get food, supplies, and rebuilding materials straight to the families who need them most. Our member is coordinating logistics to ensure these resources get past the ports and into the hands of the people in his hometown.

Firehouse dayroom tables have always been more than just furniture—they’re where stories are told, lessons are learned, and brotherhood and sisterhood are built. From the earliest wooden benches in volunteer stations to the big solid tables in today’s firehouses, these tables have witnessed countless meals, laughs, and late-night calls.

Mashpee Fire’s new dayroom table continues that tradition. This one was designed and built by FF Spears and FF Houde, crafted from locally sourced Butternut slabs generously donated by retired Lt. Milliken.

It’s a beautiful reminder that what we build together—both in and out of service—lasts for generations.

On Monday September 12, we had our 15th annual golf tournament fundraiser. I am happy to announce it was an amazing day, with beautiful weather and some great golf! With a best ball scramble, we had a low score of 54!

Thank you to our sponsors, especially Access Auto Too, Oceanside Restoration, Capewide Construction, and the dozens of other hole sponsors. Without you, this tournament would not have been as successful as it was.
