We honor the life and legacy of Larry Hicok, a dedicated educator, leader, and friend to so many in our school community.
Larry began his career at Rockford High School as a business teacher before stepping into the role of elementary principal in 1970. Over the years, he led not just one, but three elementary schools—traveling daily between Rockford, Rudd, and Marble Rock with unwavering commitment to students and staff. His leadership helped shape generations of learners, impacting nearly 2,000 students and countless colleagues.
Larry also played a vital role during one of the district’s most challenging times. After the Rockford high school fire in 1989, he was instrumental in helping rebuild and unify the district into one school, creating a stronger future for the community he cared so deeply about.
He remained in that role until his retirement in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, steady leadership, and genuine care for every student and staff member.
A visitation will be held from 4:30–7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock School.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and all who knew him. His impact will not be forgotten.
