In 25 years of service to the community, we have established ourselves as the facility of choice for Mason and southern Tazewell counties. In 1984, a group of Mason City residents discussed how they could bring more industry into town. The topic of building a nursing facility came up. From that point on, sheer determination led to the realization of that dream. Residents of Mason City and many of the surrounding towns raised over $700,000 to build our nursing home. Mason City Area Nursing Home opened in 1989 with just six residents. It was projected that it would take four years to fill the facility; however, in just one and a half years, that goal was realized. Today, we are a community-owned, 97-bed facility offering three levels of care - shelter, intermediate, and skilled. We are also Medicare/Medicaid certified and managed by Heritage Enterprises.

Mason City Area Nursing Home took our “Senior Space Shuttle” to the Mason City Parade—and we are proud to announce that we won the Judge’s Choice Award for Best Decorated Vehicle! 🌟

Our team received a $25 donation for the Activity Department, and we couldn’t be more grateful! A huge thank you to the parade coordinators, volunteers, residents, staff, and community friends who helped bring this out-of-this-world idea to life. 💫

It was a joy to represent our community and share some smiles along the parade route. Stay tuned—more adventures are on the horizon! 🌙🛸

Come enjoy a cheerful afternoon on our T-Wing Patio and the grassy area just outside of it—the perfect spot for kids to run, play with bubbles, and enjoy sweet treats alongside our residents. 💙

🎡 State Fair Week is coming to Mason City Area Nursing Home! 🎉

We’re bringing the sights, sounds, and sweet fun of the fair right to our residents—every day from August 4th through August 8th at 2:30 PM (Friday at 1:00 PM)!

🎠 Each day will be filled with fair-themed fun, treats, and activities that spark joy and create lasting memories.
✨ Then on Friday at 3:00 PM, residents can visit our very own Country Store and spend the points they've earned all week long!

Families, friends, and staff—get ready to celebrate summer, smiles, and the spirit of community with us. 💛

We’re gearing up for a week full of smiles, treats, and good old-fashioned fun during our State Fair Week, August 4th–7th, plus Friday, August 9th at 1 PM — and we need as many volunteers as we can get!

👉 Volunteers are needed daily at 2:30 PM (Aug 4–7)
👉 And again on Friday, August 8th at 1 PM

Help us bring the fair magic to life with games, activities, and meaningful moments with our amazing residents. Whether you can join us for one day or all, your help truly matters!
