Today was such a fun and meaningful session 🌸 We practiced our articulation words while building beautiful flowers—such a perfect activity for spring and a sweet way to celebrate Earth Day 🌎

Of course, we had to add butterflies on top 🦋 They’re my favorite because they remind us how we grow and change as we learn new things. Just like a caterpillar goes through quite a process to become a butterfly, all that hard work really does pay off 💛

Today was such a sweet and productive session 💛

We had the perfect mix of motor planning and language practice while building our very own fort!

As we worked, we talked about trying new things and even explored why famous forts were built. There were lots of great moments answering questions, and in between, we practiced using our hands together to carefully put each piece in place.

The best part? Getting to relax inside our cozy fort while finishing our lesson 😊

Had so much fun with our picnic-themed speech session this week 🧺🐻✨

We started off strong using our Myo Munchee while listening to Going on a Bear Hunt, then warmed up our motor phonemes by “cooking” our words in the play oven 👩‍🍳🔥

To finish, we practiced our target words and phrases by feeding our animals the most amazing picnic and even baking cookies for dessert 🍪🐶🐻

Craft of the week 🌎💚 We’re getting ready for Earth Day by decorating our very own Earths with our target sounds!

I love incorporating crafts so our kiddos have something to take home and remind them of the sounds they’re working on. It’s such a functional way to practice—especially when they get to tell others all about the craft they made!

While creating, we’re working on articulation, language skills as we describe our pictures, and following directions step-by-step. So much learning packed into one fun activity ✂️✨

Today I got to witness the sweetest reminder of how powerful it is when we bring speech, language, and feeding therapy together 💚

A little nonspeaking friend was working so hard to motor plan bringing a cup to his mouth to drink from an open cup. Because he can spell to communicate, he was able to tell me, “too hard to grade movement,” and we worked through it together—talking it out while I provided support to help guide the movement.

And then… the best moment 🥹
“Look at me.”
That pride. That connection. That communication.

From there, we explored cup preferences—thin lip, wide lip, what felt right (or not so right) for his sensory system. When I wondered about one cup, he told me, “green is good quite fat,” and we found what worked best for him.

Because we prioritized communication, we were able to understand his sensory needs, problem-solve together, and celebrate successful sips from an open cup 🎉
Such a beautiful example of how everything works together—and how giving kids a voice changes everything 💬✨

Today in speech we got creative and built our very own zoo creations 🦁🐒🐘 while practicing good grammar, strong sentence production, and clear sounds!

The best part? Using our imaginations to bring it all to life with a fun and silly zoo story we created together. Play + learning = the best kind of therapy 💛✨

Today in speech therapy we brought out the vintage felt board and had so much fun with pretend play 🐾✨

While we played pet store, we worked on grammar, pronunciation, and building sentences about what all our little animals were doing. By the end, we created a great story and this adorable scene! 🐶🐱🐰

It’s time for 🌸 spring farmers markets 🌸 in speech therapy!

This week during pretend play, our little shoppers have been busy buying and selling at the market 🥕🍓 While we play, we’re working on so many important language skills like possessives, pronouns, and helping verbs (is/are, have/has, do, and more).
Play-based learning makes it so much more fun—and meaningful—as kids practice real-life communication in a way that feels natural and exciting 💛

This week in speech we are all about 🦋 butterflies 🦋

After learning about butterflies, I asked one of my students to share his thoughts… and wow did he deliver when he spelled:

“feel all gooey every free butterfly I see. fly every ornate pattern. each butterfly forges good path. get only good vibe”

I mean… 🥹💛

It sparked such a sweet conversation about why I love butterflies so much and why one is part of our logo. Butterflies remind me of the journey our kids are on. Just like a caterpillar, growth takes time, effort, and a whole lot of hard work. The process isn’t always easy—but it’s so worth it.

In speech, we are all little caterpillars 🐛 working our way toward becoming beautiful butterflies 🦋—growing, changing, and finding our voice along the way.

And just like my student said… we’re here for those good vibes 💫
