So many amazing moments this week that remind us why we love what we do 💛

✨ A student spelled out her favorite song — Taylor Swift’s “Fearless”!

✨ Another student wanted to chat all about the Philistines (who would’ve guessed?!) and even clearly shared his protein shake preferences 🥤

✨ And one sweet kiddo started using spontaneous words to communicate — with the best eye contact and biggest smiles 🥰

Every child has so much to say — sometimes they just need the right tools to express it. 💬

🎃👻 Halloween fun has taken over speech this week! 👻🎃
We’ve been working on our communication goals with a spooky twist:
🧡 Making Halloween creations out of play dough
💚 Putting googly eyes on our target words to make silly monster faces
💜 Finding target words hidden inside monster eggs
🧡 Playing Chompin’ Charlie
💚 Opening acorns to practice labeling and requesting

✨ Feel Good Friday! ✨

This week’s highlight was watching a sweet friendship blossom between two kids who communicate through spelling on letter boards 💛

Through their pen-pal connection, they’ve been learning so many important skills — from greetings and giving compliments to asking on-topic questions, sharing personal details, and finding common interests. 🌟

What makes it even more special? Just a few weeks ago, one of these amazing students was only able to request food or motivators using AAC — and now they’re spelling full thoughts, expressing preferences, and even shared that they’re an avid reader! 📚💬

Communication comes in many forms — and spelling can be a powerful one! 🧠💛

So good to remember! We must model AAC ALL the time!

It seriously is mind blowing. I use this stat all the time when coaching teams because it’s such a powerful reminder!

And this isn’t about shaming anyone! It’s about keeping our eyes on what truly matters: consistent, rich modeling – without expectation.

So important for us to think about and share with others. 🖤
