Caring for someone with memory loss is one of the most loving things a person can do. It is also one of the most demanding. If you are a caregiver, your wellbeing matters too. π
A few gentle reminders to carry with you:
𧑠Caregiver exhaustion is real, and asking for help is not a sign of weakness
𧑠Recognising your own signs of stress is just as important as watching your loved one
𧑠Sleep, proper nutrition, and regular breaks are not optional. They are essential
𧑠Sharing responsibility with family or professional support protects everyone involved
𧑠Support groups offer connection with others who truly understand the experience
𧑠Seeking additional care for a loved one is not abandonment. It is an act of love
𧑠Memory care communities are designed to support families, not just residents
You cannot pour from an empty cup. Give yourself the same compassion you give to others. πΏ
