🌸 Why Sensory Activities Matter in Dementia Care

As dementia changes how the brain processes the world, sensory activities can provide comfort and familiarity. Engaging the five senses such as sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell helps individuals with memory loss feel grounded, confident, and connected to the moment.

Sensory experiences like music, soothing textures, or familiar scents can awaken memories, spark conversation, and nurture emotional well-being. In memory care communities, these activities are a gentle yet powerful way to bring meaning and joy to each day.
