Not all bunion-related problems push the big toe outward. In some cases, it moves inward—a condition known as hallux varus, sometimes called the anti-bunion.

At our practice, we evaluate the underlying cause of hallux varus and focus on conservative, professional treatment options whenever possible to improve alignment, comfort, and stability.

If big toe pain or stiffness is affecting how you walk, early evaluation matters.

Sharp or aching pain at the back of your heel—especially when walking or wearing shoes—may be heel bursitis, not just “sore feet.”

At our practice, we help patients identify the true cause of heel bursitis and create a treatment plan focused on reducing inflammation, improving mechanics, and restoring comfort. Early care can prevent the condition from becoming chronic.

If heel pain is limiting your daily activity, it’s time to get answers.

Pain or irritation on the outside of your foot near the little toe? That may be a tailor’s bunion (bunionette) — and it’s more common than many people realize.

At our practice, we help patients relieve bunionette pain using conservative, science-backed treatments whenever possible, including footwear guidance, padding, and custom orthotics. Surgery is only considered when necessary.

If your shoes are rubbing, swelling keeps coming back, or walking is uncomfortable, don’t ignore it — early care can make a big difference.

❄️ Don’t Let “Frozen Toes” End Your Ski Day Early

Keeping your feet warm isn’t just about comfort — it’s about circulation and nerve health. When your feet get cold, your blood vessels constrict in order to keep your core warm, leaving your extremities vulnerable to frost bite or even nerve compression from stiff boots.
Here is the professional guide for staying warm on the slopes:

🧤 1. The “Thin is In” Rule
It’s a common myth that thicker socks = warmer feet.
• The Reality: Thick socks can bunch up and cut off circulation in tight ski or snowboard boots.
• Pro Tip: Wear a single pair of thin, moisture-wicking Merino wool or synthetic compression socks.

🚫 2. Loosen the Clamps
If you’re cranking your buckles or laces to the max, you’re essentially putting a tourniquet on your feet.
• Pro Tip: Tighten for the run, but flip those buckles open while in the lift line or grabbing lunch.

🔥 3. Start Hot, Stay Hot
Putting cold feet into cold boots is a losing battle.
• Pro Tip: Use a boot dryer the night before or keep your boots in the heated cabin of the car on the way up. Never leave them in the freezing trunk overnight!

💧 4. Moisture is the Enemy
Sweaty feet become cold feet the second you stop moving.
• Pro Tip: Use a clinical-grade antiperspirant spray on your soles before putting on your socks. Keeping the sweat at bay keeps the heat in.

Podiatrist’s Warning: If you experience persistent numbness, “pins and needles,” or skin discoloration that lasts long after you’ve warmed up, come see us right away.
Your feet are your foundation — treat them well!
