Hi Everybody,
Time for some more clubhouse updates!! John F will be relieved, and Char B. and Stacie H. will be busy looking for errors which were plentiful in the last newsletter. Right Char B.? Since Ice Cream Steve has returned and is rebuilding the ice crem inventory, we will have to look for Doughnut Dave B and Patty.! to discuss the doughnut situation. We know Dave B has not been feeling well and Patty dropped a whole box of doughnuts ...(next time bring the dirty doughnuts Patty!) but do what you can to feel better Dave B. It's just not the same without our Tim Horton doughnuts... and you and Patty of course. The other big news... the soda machine has been restocked. So, Charlie C we expect to see you Sunday for your daily Pepsi... sorry about last Sunday. Poor Charlie had to drink water with his me
This Fridy October 24 from 5-8pm we will be at St. Johns Church playing a dice game called Bunco. The Parish has always included 39 Serenity Place in some of their activities. We expect to have good time playing the game, eating pizza, enjoying the comradery, and eating dessert. It's not too late to sign up . Call Sue L. before she calls you!! Then on Sunday October 26 there will be a dinner after the 1PM AA meeting. If you have a few extra bucks throw it in the meal donation basket. Prices are really sky rocketing so we have had to cut back on menu.
On Friday October 31 Melissa W , Carl C. and I think Pat O have volunteered to pass out candy at the clubhouse. At the same time we are passing out Survival Bags now that it is getting colder outside. Any volunteers to help with that. Let us know
On Sunday November 2 Brian D and Andrew S. both celebrating 38 years and Mike B is celebrating 2 years at the 1pm AA Mtg. . Randy W will be the speaker, and we are still waiting to learn who will be presenting coins and what they would like for dinner. The only thing we know for sure is that Gaeton R. and Danny L. will be sitting at the table playing cards before people are finished eating.
A while ago Pat S. celebrated 24 years, Jim R. left the area, and we had a farewell party for him and last Sunday Karen M served a turkey dinner after the 1 PM AA Meeting and it just happened to be a Bon Voyage Party for her and Brian D. who are both travelling south for the winter. Melissa W brought the banana bread, Paty O made some cookies and fudge and Delma W brought a cake along with Ice cream Steve and his ice cream. there were two card games going... maybe you saw the picture of Amy B we posted. The games get intense!
Other news... Thanks Bill D for sending us so many Spaghetti dinners from the Italian American Club. We can assure that meal were eaten pretty quickly. Also, thanks to Carl C and his mother for donating a popcorn machine. that will come in handy on game days. Congrats to Melissa W for speaking at the District Day of Sharing. We hear it went very well. Finally, We are missing garbage cans again! 1this makes a total of ten garbage cans that have walked away. Alof them have or address spray painted on them so if you see any of them grab them.
I have attached the activity sheet for you to review. I sent an earlier email outlining all the activities. There are signup sheets on the table. Thanks for meeting and coming up with a plan. Char B., Pat O and Melissa W. and thankyou Darcy F. for the great flyer.
More next week or should I say ... until next time!
